eVIA will present the best projects carried out by entrepreneurs in the health ICT field

At your next meeting, that will be celebrated on 28 November, eVIA will reveal which have been the most innovative European R&D&i initiatives in the Health environment. Benigno Lacort, CEO of Ametic will participate in the opening of the session.

eVIA, the Spanish platform for technologies for health and active and independent living, will announce the next 28 November, R&D&i initiatives and programs both at national and European level. In addition, and through the Emprendex initiative, will reveal the eight best entrepreneurial projects in the health ICT field.

These initiatives will be revealed at the eVIA Assembly, in whose opening Benigno Lacort will participate., CEO of Ametic, organization that coordinates eVIA. In this Assembly the social challenge of health will be addressed, demographic change and well-being, as well as other sections of interest of the new European R&D&I financing program, Horizonte 2020.

Emprendex is an initiative organized by eVia and TICBioMed which aims to encourage entrepreneurs who carry out ICT projects framed in the health environment, active and independent life.

Two of the eight selected projects will be chosen as entrepreneurs Everis and bolt, companies that will help them in the implementation of their initiatives.

Spain, ICT Health reference

Spain is an ICT benchmark for health in Europe as demonstrated by the fact that the return obtained by our country in projects related to health in the VII FP (until the VII call) was from 11,93 %, almost then 3 points higher than what is sought for Horizon 2020.

In the AAL program, the second of aid to companies in the ICT health sector after the EU Framework Program, Spain is the country with the best results. In the 80 proposals, 107 entities were Spanish, which means a 70 % of success of Spanish entities, compared to the European average which is around 50 %.

Horizonte 2020

Health is the social challenge, defined on the horizon 2020, which has a larger budget, 1.200 MM€, for the first work package (2014-2015), and some 8.000 MM€ in total, which means more than one 10 % Horizonte program budget 2020 that reaches the 72.000 MM€. This is a budget executed by three entities: DG Sanco, whose Head of Unit attends the Assembly; DG Connect; and by AAL, whose president attends the eVIA Assembly.
