Daktronics upgrades audiovisual systems at Rutgers University RAC Stadium
The Scarlet Knights stadium has installed, from the hand of Daktronics, a four-sided multimedia screen that hangs in the center of the court, two rings and two auxiliary ones in the corners. Besides, has implemented a new sound system.
Rutgers University has updated the screen installed in the center of the Rutgers Athletic Center stadium (RAC) and Piscataway (New Jersey) and has provided it with a new video and audio system, project that has been carried out by Daktronics.
“Video cards Daktronics and the new sound system have improved the game experience for both fans who come to the stadium, as for corporate sponsors and, even, the teams”, comenta Geoff Brown, senior aAssociate AD/Chief Marketing Officer.
El Rutgers Athletic Center (RAC) It is the home of the Scarlet Knights men's and women's basketball teams.. The center opened its doors in 1977 and has the capacity to 8.000 aficionados.
For the new season, the RAC has updated its audiovisual systems in order to offer a better gaming experience to fans and have a support to communicate information content about matches and other events., in addition to serving to broadcast sponsored advertisements.
Inside the RAC, The central screen is made up of a four-display video system with two ring screens, one at the top and one at the bottom. The four main video screens measure approximately 2 meters high by 3,6 meters wide and have a space between lines of six millimeters.
From these screens it is possible to display a large image to highlight live video and instant replays. They can also be split into separate windows to offer a variety of graphics, colorful animations, up-to-the-minute statistics, different information and sponsored ads.
Installed on the court, This set of screens offers images of great clarity and contrast with a wide viewing angle that provides optimal viewing for all fans.
The upper ring screens measure half a meter high by almost 19 meters of circumference and a space between lines of 15 millimeters; while the lower one has the same height but with 13 meters of circumference and identical space between lines.
This set of screens can be raised and lowered, placing it at different heights. Y, for it, Daktronics has installed a remote-controlled elevator.
Auxiliary screens
Daktronics has also installed two auxiliary displays located in two of the four corners of the RAC. These screens measure 8,8 meters high by 1,8 wide and have a line spacing of 15 millimeters.
These screens, as well as ring ones, provide the opportunity to highlight promotional ads and display real-time statistics.
sound system
Regarding the sound system, The Scarlet Knights stadium has a new infrastructure made up of 60 EVA line array speakers 2082 series of Electro-Voice that are fed by 12 Tour Grade series amplifiers from the same manufacturer.
Daktronics LED video systems and message display technology offer long life with minimal maintenance and low power consumption.
