Jason Chen, until now vice president of global sales and marketing division for Taiwan of Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), assumes from 1 January 2014 the executive presidency of the Taiwanese multinational technology company Acer.

Acer Jason ChenThe new executive president and CEO of Acer, Jason Chen, whose responsibility will become officially effective from the 1 January 2014, assumes the mission of leading the Taiwanese multinational during its corporate and strategic transformation.

The president of Acer, Stan Shih, who will continue with this position in the company and as president of the Transformation Committee, has noted that “Jason Chen is an excellent manager, with extensive experience in administration tasks and proven execution capacity. The Acer works council has met with him on several occasions to discuss in-depth and exchange points of view. We consider him to be the ideal executive to lead our transformation., thanks to your new ideas, your international perspective and your willingness to face this challenge. Besides, shares the consensus of our strategy and development for the future of Acer”.

In this sense, Chen will also become a member of Acer's Transformation Committee and will work together to review change initiatives, as well as to improve communication and processes between the board of directors and the management team of the multinational.

Before joining Acer, Chen served as vice president of corporate development at Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) y, since the year 2008, vice president of global marketing and sales for Taiwan in said organization. In his professional career, This manager has worked at Intel and IBM in different marketing and sales positions.
