Aumenta.me 2014 will bring together the experience of augmented reality in education

The city of Granada will be the scene of the annual Aug.me event 2014, for the exchange of ideas, experiences, augmented reality projects and developments in education, that will take place next 17 May at the headquarters of the Grenadine Confederation of Businessmen.

Augmented reality technology and education, an ideal tandem whose solutions, projects, experiences and news are shown annually at the event Aumenta.me, whose edition 2014 will be held next 17 May in Granada, in the architectural design environment offered by the headquarters of the Grenadine Confederation of Businessmen (CGE).

Aumenta.me 2014, an initiative of the Spiral Association, Education and Technology, which on this occasion will count on the collaboration of OnGranada Tech City for the organization of the event, a project launched by the Granada Plaza Tecnológica association, formed by CGE, Granada City Council, Provincial Council of Granada, University of Granada (UGR), Eticom and Junta de Andalucía, brings together the best augmented educational experiences, with workshops and an exhibition hall where the main providers of educational solutions will show their services and products.

As its organizers point out, “Augmented reality allows us to erase the line of separation between what is real and what is virtual.”, creating an enriched reality in which digital content is added (text, image, audio, video, 3D models,…) to our environment in real time. These “augments” of reality can improve the individual's knowledge by providing them with a greater degree of understanding of their environment..

At the moment, This technology has matured to such a point that it is applicable to a wide variety of areas and it is in education where it can especially add value., they point out from the Spiral Association, that integrates teachers of all levels, educational areas and stages, researchers in the field of educational technology, designers of teaching materials and companies and institutions related to information technologies in the educational field.

As they point out, “the very nature of this technology, that provides greater information about the real world and allows complex concepts to be represented and understood, “makes augmented reality a valuable tool in the educational field”.
