The Gran Canaria Arena has debuted with an audiovisual solution from Daktronics that includes a video scoreboard in the shape of a suspended cube, composed of 15 independent screens, and an IPTV system that connects the displays located in the main entrances and corridors, VIP rooms and press.

The new Gran Canaria Arena stadium was opened to the public last 1 May with the first official match of the ACB basketball league between Herbalife Gran Canaria and FC Barcelona. This sports palace is located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and will be one of the six venues for the FIBA ​​Basketball World Cup 2014 in Spain. The arena will also be used for cultural events and conferences., including Cirque du Soleil's Dralion show this summer.

A video scoreboard has been installed in the central area of ​​the stadium, built with a suspended hub configuration, which is accompanied by side markers certified by the FIBA ​​level 1. An IPTV system has also been installed (video and audio distributed over a network) with screens in the main entrances and corridors, VIP and press rooms.

The central video scoreboard integrates 15 individual screens, all of them with SMD LED technology and a pixel resolution of 10 mm, surmounted by a top ring 0,7 meters high by 28 meters in length. Four screens are located in the center., each of 3,5 meters high by 6,1 base meters, while in the corners there are four more, of 3,5 meters high by 0,95 base meters. An octagon of screens has been installed under the main screens, composed of eight screens 1 meter high by 2,5 base meters. The configuration is completed with two lower screens with 0,9 meters of height by 6 meters of base arranged at an angle for optimal vision from the seats closest to the court.

The central video scoreboard is raised by an automated motorized suspension system developed by Daktronics that incorporates the latest technology in motorization and safety., and that allows the positioning of the video scoreboard at different heights according to the needs of each event.

The original intention of the Cabildo was to have an NBA-type basketball arena in the US and now they have it. The four main screens have the ability to display a large image to offer live video or replays, but they can also be divided into windows to display graphics, animations, updated statistics, scoring information and sponsor announcements. All screens are controlled from the Daktronics Show Control system, offering a combination of video display control applications, with a high level of signal processing, Integration of data and playback equipment in one easy-to-use solution.
