VIA Article A1300: fanless system for digital signage applications with two screens
The multinational VIA Technologies has presented its new Artigo A1300 system, a compact fanless quad-core system with network connectivity for digital signage applications using two displays.
Durable and compact design, Artigo A1300 is the new system developed by VIA Technologies for digital signage applications with two screens, digital kiosks, menu boards and other uses within the Internet of Things (IoE).
This system has four fanless cores and extensive connectivity and networking features. Its small size makes it easy to install in environments with limited space, either behind a digital monitor, on a wall using a Vesa mounting accessory or inside a retail kiosk.
Espap, director of the VIA Embedded division, explains that “as the popularity of dual-screen digital signage systems grows, More and more companies are discovering the hidden costs of implementing displays that depend on a computer; For example, high maintenance costs and system crashes or failures at the most inopportune moment. With its rugged fanless design, Artigo A1300 offers a high-performance dual-screen solution that our customers can rely on to run smoothly 24×7”.
VIA Artigo A1300 takes advantage of the performance of QuadCore E-Series processors 1,0 GHz and the VX11PH multimedia systems from this manufacturer to offer complete multimedia capabilities to create visual effects in digital signage applications with one or two screens.
Plus play two 1080p videos or four 720p videos at once, This system supports DX11 graphics resolutions up to 1920×1.080 pixels through its two HDMI ports. Each HDMI display can work independently, allowing multimedia content to be displayed in different resolutions, pixel depths and refresh rates.
Connectivity and networks
Artigo A1300 has a complete set of input/output features (E/S) through its front and left panels, enabling seamless connectivity for a wide range of digital signage and integration applications. Front panel I/O includes two USB ports 3.0, two HDMI ports, un puerto Gigabit Ethernet, audio input/output connectors, as well as a DC power connector 12 V.
The left panel has I/O made up of two USB ports 2.0, one COM port for RS232/422/485 and one digital I/O port for GPIO connections 8 bits. On-board I/O consists of an mSATA connector, a SATA connector, one SIM card slot and one Mini-PCIe slot, providing additional expansion possibilities.
The system also offers optional high-speed wireless networking via 802.11b/g/n USB and HSP/UMTS 3.75G mini-PCIe broadband modules.. Also supports Wake On LAN functions (WOL) and boot from LAN (PXE), as an ideal solution for customers who want to create IoT devices and manage them remotely for almost any environment.
Customization services
Artigo A1300 is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Embedded 7 and the most popular Linux distributions. Customers can benefit from Smart ETK and software solution packages (integration toolkit) from VIA to create custom designs and quickly bring them to market.
Besides, Customers have the option to use VIA MagicView in their specific projects, a content management platform to design, distribute and display digital signage content that has advanced functions, as scheduling management, customer supervision, reporting and secure networking, to achieve maximum impact in a wide range of environments (hospitality, shops, entertainment, restaurants and other public spaces).
