Elo Touch and Mifitto develop a digital signage solution that makes shoe purchasing easier
A 3D scanner and an Elo Touch 3201L touch screen are the elements that make up the solution developed by Mifitto to ensure that the shoes fit the customer's foot.
Mifitto, a young German company that focuses its activity on the development of tools that improve the footwear purchasing experience, has been developed with the technology of Elo Touch Systems a solution that allows you to measure the size and shape of your feet in order to acquire the shoe that best adapts to that shape. The solution consists of a 3D foot scanner and an interactive touch screen.
It is a solution that provides great benefits, both to the store and to the customers. The system looks for the shoe that best adapts to each foot, thereby achieving buyer satisfaction and allowing sales to increase.. First, the foot is measured with the scanner and the most appropriate recommendations are shown on the touch screen..
For this project, Mifitto opted for the Elo Touch 3201L touchscreen, “since it offered us high quality and stable and reliable performance”, explains, Thomas Harmes, director of Mifitto.
The touch screen 32 inch 3201L incorporates an LCD panel and Led backlight, with a color active matrix thin film transistor 24 bit offering 1920 Full HD resolution display performance×1080 pixels and a brightness of 350 cd m². Features that make it an ideal digital signage solution for displaying both graphics and images indoors.
Besides, 3201L display is available with projected capacitive technology (PCAP) o IntelliTouch Plus surface acoustic wave touch technologies.
For the development of the 3D foot scanner, mifitto had the collaboration of experts in the footwear sector as well as scientists from the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (Fraunhofer IIS), researchers who were responsible for inventing the MP3 format.
A proven development
Since the spring of last year, The 3D foot scanner has been used in different facilities in Germany. In Nuremberg, The Mifitto system has been a part of Josephs–The Service Factory retail laboratories.
In addition, Team sports Philipp, German distributor specialized in football equipment and sports shoes, has installed it in its stores. “Until the end of the World Cup, the scanner was in use for football boots. Soccer players have special habits when it comes to buying boots. Some tie their boots very tightly while others play better with loose boots.. This and the different sizes are good reasons to use this solution in a point of sale”, comment Christian Lenz de Teamsport Philipp.
