Streye Box and MediCAR are the applications that Droiders has designed for Epson's Moverio BT-200 smart glasses, two tools that will represent an advance in the health field.

Droiders has developed the first tools for smartglasses Epson Moverio with application in the health environment. This is Streye Box, that allows healthcare personnel to view the video signals of their medical instruments in augmented reality glasses during surgical interventions, and MediCAR, that shows in an animated way the steps to follow in an operation.

As Ernest Quingles explains, president and managing director of Epson Ibérica, “These are the first applications that are developed for the use of the Moverio BT-200 in the medical sector. We are convinced of its very high growth potential, “which will mark a turning point and will mean a significant improvement in efficiency in multiple professional sectors”.

surgical operationThe application, Streye Box, It will involve the implementation of a totally new working method, since it is based on a streaming system that allows you to capture video signals from practically any source (medical instruments, endoscopes or ultrasound machines) and send them in high quality to the Moverio device.

As they are smart glasses with a large screen, the doctor will have complete vision during the surgery, without obstructing your view and without having to turn your head to view a monitor. Streye Box will allow visual control of the patient at all times, since the video is always in front of the professional's own natural vision.

Droiders is working on a next phase of the app, which will allow streaming through the instrumental to any part of the world. In that way, different doctors can share the video signal on their smartglasses, and actively participate in a medical intervention even if they are not physically present.

Epson Moverio BT200For your part, MediCAR is an application that serves to preview the steps of a surgical intervention on smartglasses, so it is specially designed for the training of healthcare personnel. With this tool, Students can visualize the steps to follow in an operation in the form of an animation that emulates the intervention.
