Prolight+Sound 2015: Martin Audio transforms its MLA line array with Lego bricks
Legotastic is the name of the manufacturer Martin Audio's initiative to replicate its sound systems with small Lego building bricks., with a reproduction of the iconic Pyramid Stage from the Glastonbury festival, where the company presented its MLA line array, and which will now also lead to Prolight + Sound 2015, which will be held in a few weeks in the German city of Frankfurt, as an attraction for your stand.
Martin Audio has decided to carry out an action to communicate the sound quality of its systems in an attractive way, giving Lego building bricks a new use with a reproduction of Glastonbury Festival's famous Pyramid Stage, the largest outdoor music event, sound with its MLA multi-cell line array speakers and its MLX subwoofers, among other systems.
Although since the year 2007 Martin Audio has been the manufacturer chosen to assemble the PA system of this emblematic stage, The company wanted to take its reputation for sound quality further by replicating this success with a model made up of 12.500 small shiny Lego bricks, with a size of 1.2×1,2 metros, built by the company Bright Bricks, specialized in this type of actions with these well-known blocks, for which he has used more than 120 working hours.
As James King has explained, marketing director at Martin Audio, “we wanted to celebrate our participation in Glastonbury, definitely, the most prestigious festival in the world, as well as the success we had with our MLA last year on this stage, where we broke all records with the most powerful sound level recorded at FOH and complying with the strict noise pollution levels of this emblematic place”.
For this reason and to show the possibilities to offer these high SPL levels and direct the sound evenly, the company will take Prolight + Sound 2015, of the 15 al 18 April at Messe Frankfurt, a 38x ML MLA line array scheme, as well as the replica made with Lego bricks.
“We thought that showing this year at our Prolight stand + Sound this reproduction with our MLA would have a lot of attention. It's fantastic, with all kinds of details of the scene, from the audience and even with people waiting to enter the toilet. It's true that this doesn't make any sound, But I'm sure it will create a big stir.".
In fact, This official assures that “many people have asked us if we are going to mass produce this replica.”. What we do have are five hundred limited edition certified MLA mini models, of some 12 cm. tall, with instructions on how to build it and stickers to decorate it that will surely be on many of our partners' work tables in the coming weeks.".
