Prolight+Sound 2015: Martin Audio transforms its MLA line array with Lego bricks
Legotastic is the name of the initiative of the manufacturer Martin Audio to replicate its sound systems with small Lego building bricks, with a reproduction of the iconic Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury, where the company presented its MLA line array, and that will now also lead to Prolight + Sound 2015, which will be held in a few weeks in the German city of Frankfurt, as an attraction of your stand.
Martin Audio You have decided to communicate the sound quality of your systems in an attractive way, giving Lego building bricks a new use with a reproduction of the famous Pyramid Stage from the Glastonbury Festival, The largest outdoor music event, with its MLA multicellular speaker line array and MLX subwoofers, among other systems.
Although since the year 2007 Martin Audio has been the manufacturer chosen for the assembly of the PA system for this emblematic stage, The company wanted to take its reputation in sound quality further by replicating this success with a model composed of 12.500 small shiny Lego bricks, with a size of 1.2×1,2 metre, built by the company Bright Bricks, specialized in this type of action with these well-known blocks, for which he has used more than 120 working hours.
As James King has explained, Chief Marketing Officer at Martin Audio, "We wanted to celebrate our participation in Glastonbury, no doubt, The most prestigious festival in the world, as well as the success we had with our MLA last year in this scenario, where we broke all records with the most powerful sound level recorded in FOH and meeting the strict noise pollution levels of this emblematic place".
For this reason and to show the possibilities to offer these high SPL levels and direct the sound evenly, The company will bring Prolight + Sound 2015, of the 15 to the 18 at Messe Frankfurt, a 38x ML MLA line array scheme, as well as the replica made with Lego bricks.
"We thought we'd show this year at our Prolight booth + Sound this playback with our MLA would have a lot of attention. It's fantastic, with all kinds of details of the stage, of the audience and even with people waiting to enter the bathroom. Admittedly, this doesn't have any sound, but it will surely create a stir".
In fact, This manager assures that "many people have asked us if we are going to mass-produce this replica. What we do have are five hundred limited edition MLA certified mini models, of about 12 cm. height, with instructions on how to build it and stickers to decorate it that will surely be on many of our partners' work tables in the coming weeks".
