DAS Audio Lara: first self-amplified and cardioid line array on the market

The Spanish manufacturer THE audio has taken advantage of its participation in recent European fairs, as WHEREAS 2022, to present its line array Lara, after carrying out a testing program with some of the most important sound engineers in the industry.

After a previous presentation of the system in Miami (EU) last March with FOH engineers, sound technicians, distributors and customers, THE audio has officially shown Lara, the first line array powered and cardioid four-way on the market, during his participation in Prolight + Sound 2022 in Frankfurt (more details in Digital AV) y, just a few days ago, in WHEREAS 2022 in Barcelona.

The Lara system “raises the brand's commitment to technology and promises to become a benchmark in the market”, they point out from the company. Added to this is also the presentation of Alma, your new system control and monitoring software created by and for sound engineers. This has been assured, among other experts, Yamil Martínez, FOH by Luis Fonsi: “It is a product that will be in many riders. “It will mark a before and after for DAS Audio”.

Lara has a performance of 146 dB SPL Max lineal and great dynamic range, especially suitable for large events. Thanks to cardioid design achieves an attenuation in the posterior radiation of the 15 dB in the range of 63 Hz – 200 Hz, which in addition to helping the artists on stage, reduces noise pollution generated by any type of live event.

Consumption efficiency is another point in Lara's favor. Class D amplifiers Powersoft integrate switching power supply, with power correction factor (PFC), ensuring maximum performance and efficiency regardless of mains voltage.

Each set provides a total of 6.000 power wrms, divided into eight channels, to feed the 2×12” and two compression motors; los 2×8” front and the 2×8” rear. All Lara components have been custom designed and manufactured to maximize system efficiency, that incorporates two 12” bass speakers with 4” voice coil, plus two other 8” in cardioid configuration.

To cover the mid-frequency range, use two other 8” speakers with 2.5” voice coils.. The high frequency section is made up of two compression drivers of THE M-78N, with 3” coils and a waveguide with 100º horizontal coverage.
