Quantis buys Newtec Dialog and connects with this platform 4.000 schools in Morocco

Matching IBC 2015, A new hub installed in Morocco by Nortis has been presented, filial Moroccan de Quantis, from which Internet access will be offered to 4.000 Moroccan schools.

How many has acquired the multiservice platform Newtec Dialog to complement its current satellite infrastructure and provide its clients with more advanced services.

Quantis is a long-standing customer of Newtec's broadband solutions for Africa coverage, Europe and the Middle East, including a broadband hub (Sat3Play) installed in Arganda (Madrid).

This new hub will allow Northis, Quantis subsidiary in Morocco, offer satellite broadband services throughout the country. The hub will be installed on the outskirts of Casablanca.

Thanks to this technology, a project will be developed that will connect 4.000 schools in Morocco, following a contract awarded to Nortis by the Moroccan Ministry of Education as part of the Genie project.

This project includes three phases in its development. The first one started in 2009 when the Moroccan Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) awarded Nortis the satellite connection of 600 schools of the total 2.000 contemplated in this phase.

In 2011 the second phase was launched, with a total of 400 schools, of which 112 They have a satellite Internet connection through Nortis. The third phase includes the Internet connection of 7.854 new schools from which 4.000 They will do it via satellite through Nortis.

This service will provide Internet access for students, while teachers will be able to benefit from courses through distance education. The new multiservice platform will allow, besides, Quantis to enter high heat markets, like the maritime, cellular backhaul, business and M2M.

Internet connection via satellite uses a small satellite dish, similar in size to those used to watch television, and a router similar to the one used in cable connections. Since it is a satellite signal, Access is assured at any point in the territory. Las 4.000 schools in the last phase of Genie to which Nortis will provide access will have a bandwidth of up to 20 megabits of upload.

As a multiservice platform, Newtec Dialog guarantees optimal modulation and bandwidth allocation according to each application, even in mobility, in traditional networks such as HTS. The center also features Newtec return link technology (Mx-DMA) o Cross Dimensional Multiples Access that allows satellite services to operate more efficiently and reliably by combining the best features of MF-TDMA and SCPC technologies.
