Cisco Smart+Connected Communities solutions for the digital transformation of cities
The company shows at Smart City Expo World Congress, that starts today and until 19 November, its fifth edition in Barcelona, its portfolio of Smart+Connected Communities solutions, developed with its partners, as well as new projects with cities around the world.
Smart City Expo World Congress 2015 (SCEWC), which is celebrated from 17 al 19 November in the Catalan capital, has the participation of Cisco and its Smart+Connected Communities solutions, designed to help cities in their digital transformation with sustainable economic models, social and environmental that guarantee a better quality of life for citizens.
At the Cisco booth (309C), the company and its Black partners & Veatch, CH2M, Cubic Transportation Systems, Deutsche Telekom, Johnson Controls Building Efficiency, Kiwi Security Software, s::can, Sensity Systems, Smart City Media y WorldSensing, in addition to the cities of Dubai, Hamburg, Adelaide (Australia) y Kansas City (Missouri), show different implementations of solutions for smart cities.
Relying on a smart network as a platform for the management of urban services, Smart+Connected Communities solutions offer a complete approach to transform public spaces into smart connected communities, eliminating barriers between administrations, people and companies to collect and convert data from connections into useful information and transform the way people live, work or enjoy their leisure.
José Manuel Petisco, general director of Cisco Spain, This is what he points out: “to offer citizens new generation services, Administrations must create and maintain sustainable and connected solutions, instead of relying on current isolated services. We have integrated all the necessary elements into a digital platform for cities, and we work with a complete ecosystem of local and global partners that provide complementary applications and services to accompany cities in their digital evolution”.
In this sense, more than ninety cities to date, like Bombay (India), Toronto (Canada), Chicago (EU), Hamburg (Germany), Barcelona (Spain), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Guayaquil (Ecuador), Chengdu (China) or Dubai (E.A.U.), among others, have trusted Cisco and its partners to deploy Smart+Connected Communities solutions and applications for traffic management, smart lighting, connected education, healthcare, security or access to government services remotely.
In this contest, Cisco and its partners carry out live demonstrations of these solutions, among which are:
- Smart+Connected Lighting, together with Cisco urban infrastructure management software, provides the efficiency and precision of Led technology that, when combined with the Smart+Connected Multi-sensor node, allows you to collect a wide variety of data from the environment, like humidity levels, CO2/O2, UVA/UVB or particles; detect seismic and sound activity and use video images for facial or vehicle license plate recognition. These data, shared through a single platform, They can optimize multiple urban services in addition to helping reduce energy consumption, avoid traffic jams, improve urban planning, etc.
- Smart+Connected Parking, provides smart parking services combining different technologies such as public WiFi, video cameras, parking sensor analytics and management applications, providing drivers with real-time information about available seats and reserving them from their mobile devices. Monitored parking zone controllers can also monitor violations more effectively..
