Graphic panels and immersive effects recreate the history of the Malta National War Museum
Sarner, audiovisual specialist in museum and leisure design, has designed a wide range of graphics and visual effects with AV Stumpfl systems and media players to recreate in an innovative and immersive way the history of the new Malta National War Museum.
With a spectacular multimedia installation, the Republic of Malta has recreated in the new National War Museum, located in the Fort of San Telmo, vital enclave during the Great Siege during World War II, the entire military history of this island country from its origins, under British rule, and especially to commemorate his role in this great contest, until today as a member of the European Union.
The museum building, which was originally a gunpowder warehouse during World War II, It has been completely restored to transform this historical jewel into a unique tourist attraction. Opened in May of this year, has had an investment of 15,5 million euros carried out by Grand Harbor Regeneration Corporation together with Heritage Malta, responsible for the country's historical heritage.
For this project, audiovisual experts and integrators from Sarner, that in collaboration with the Austrian firm BY Stumpfl and the joint venture formed by the consultants Forward Architects and the contractor Camray, They created and installed seven hundred graphic panels and created the content for more than a hundred visual productions., effects and audio to show in detail all military and war history.
Ross Magri, CEO of Sarner, explains that “the museum's exhibits date back to the Bronze Age, around 2.500 aC. AV Stumpfl media players are configured to display our content on screens, which we access remotely and which we can update as necessary, if there is a particular event or an archaeological discovery has been made with an FTP server”.
On his tour of the museum, visitors access the stories of the heroes, battles and conflicts in chronological order through visual representations and interactive elements. “The highlight is, definitely, the immersion show, located within historic Cavalier, that encourages visitors to live a total experience in the historic heart”, subraya Magri.
