Canon and AV Stumpfl perform at ISE 2016 an immersive 4K dual projection experience
The projection is being carried out with Canon XEED 4K500ST equipment on a curved Fullwhite screen of 4,5 metros, designed by AV Stumpfl. Depth and realism is possible thanks to Canon lens technology and AV Stumpfl's Wings Engine Raw projection server..
In cooperation with BY Stumpfl, Canon is showing at the Integrated Systems Europe fair (WHEREAS) 2016 an uncompressed 4K video projection. This immersive experience is taking place in Canon's 'Beyond 4K' zone (Hall 1, stand F44).
Using the combination of Canon XEED 4K500ST projectors, a fast-motion video is being shown (time-lapse), produced in London by Canon ambassador and explorer, Simeon Quarrie, with an EOS 5DS R.
This international event has been the occasion chosen to present to the audiovisual community, for the first time in Europe, the XEED 4K500ST projector, the 4K for installations that is defined by the company as the smallest and lightest in the world. At the stand visitors can inspect and experience its new features, like Marginal Focus, a tool that allows you to project content on a curved screen, keeping it focused.
The video is being displayed on a Fullwhite model curved projection screen. 4,5 metros, designed by AV Stumpfl, featuring a solidly constructed frame and flexible projection surface. The design creates a feeling as if there is no frame around it, allowing booth visitors to have an immersion in the double 4K experience.
The depth and realism of the installation is due to Canon lens technology and AV Stumpfl's Wings Engine Raw projection server., which has been optimized to stream uncompressed 4K content at a speed of 60 frames per second (fps).
The server greatly reduces production time and costs, by eliminating the need to convert content. Besides, apply distortion correction, as well as the combination of both images on the screen without distinguishing the union, ensuring images appear projected on the curved screen without distortion.
“Our Wings Engine Raw technology is the world's first for uncompressed 4K video servers and enables a newer, faster setup feature.. It is a perfect solution for the most demanding environments, “where our innovative and flexible technology helps customers achieve impactful 4K experiences.”, declared Rudi Hradil, CMO de AV Stumpfl.
New features of the XEED models
Canon is also showing at the fair the new functionalities of the XEED projectors such as edge curling without the need to use a personal computer, as well as new possibilities for facilities, using HDBaseT technology, that allows visual signals to be transmitted, audio and control via a single cable at distances up to 100 meters. To demonstrate it, XEED WUX500 and XEED WUX6010 projectors are being used.
Also on display is the double lamp equipment and 7.500 LX-MU700 lumens, Ideal for installations that require continuous high brightness or in places where there is limited access to the projector.
Digital signage
A section of the booth is dedicated specifically to illustrating how Canon projectors can be used for a variety of digital signage applications., allowing for very versatile multimedia installations through faithful and vibrant color reproduction, and Canon's AISYS optical projection technology.
Finally, A touch area can be seen in the creative capture area &try where equipment such as the EOS C300 Mark II camera with a 4K lens has been located, the EOS 5DS and the XC10 4K and XF205 camcorders, highlighting the progress of Canon's 4K technology, from image capture to presentation.
