Sony Cledis: new large-scale canvas display technology
The new scalable system, that the company will present at InfoComm 2016 in las vegas, Features a black surface area of the 99% that offers imageit is high contrast, resolution and great impact, with very fine LEDs to create a great high-end visual canvas.
Cledis (Crystal Led Integrated Structure – integrated crystal light-emitting diode structure), It is the new technology developed by Sony; a large-scale canvas solution based on the self-emitting display capabilities of this manufacturer but with very thin LEDs as the light source, to deliver a single high-resolution image on a scale never before seen before.
The design of this solution, which the company will show in detail in InfoComm 2016 (of the 4 al 10 June in Las Vegas), aims to redefine the landscape of large-scale viewing and visual entertainment by offering an entirely new viewing experience, which is currently not possible even with the highest-end conventional LED matrix.
This is how Damien Weissenburger explains it, Head of Corporate and Education Solutions Business at Sony Professional Solutions Europe: “Our technology is a huge new type of canvas that delivers unprecedented flexibility and creativity in high-end visual entertainment and simulation.”. Compared to other current large-scale visualization solutions, represents a great advance in depth, contrast, wide viewing angle, color, resolution and authentic visual impact”.
Cledis canvas technology is designed for a wide variety of commercial applications where displays with complex details and realistic large-scale simulation are required.. Its implementation varies from industrial product design and automotive manufacturing., even the screens in amusement parks, museums, hotel lobbies, as well as exhibitions, conference rooms and broadcast studios.
Sony Cledis adapts easily with creative proposals. Its innovative borderless design allows multiple tiles to be aligned perfectly so that the human eye cannot see the gaps between them.. The result is an immersive and realistic image, with a viewing angle of almost 180 degrees.
Cledis self-emitting display technology uses very thin RGB LEDs installed on the screen surface, in which each pixel emits light independently, composed of a light source of only 0,003 mm2 in size. The remaining surface area is more than 99% negra.
Along with isotropic luminescence technology, offering the same color reproduction and brightness for viewers from any angle, High surface black ratio offers maximum contrast in both bright and dark environments. The light source installed on the surface also considerably improves the efficiency of the light used..
The screen is capable of reaching a viewing angle of almost 180º, with image uniformity from corner to corner in terms of brightness and color, even on a large system. In addition, has a shine of 1.000 cd/m2 (1.000 nits), which produces images with a color depth of 10 bits and a wide range of colors (approximately a 140% of sRGB).
The solution also features Sony's exclusive pixel circuitry for fast video response, with a frequency of up to 120 frames per second (fps), which is very useful when viewing sports broadcasts, concerts or training simulations, where users need to present images on large screens without lag or motion artifacts.
The scalable canvas is made up of multiple screens (each one measures 403× 453 mm.) that can be joined together to create a larger size and a variable aspect ratio depending on the requirements of each application. For example, 9.7 high quality large monitor can be built×2,7 m. (8Kx2K) by combining 144 independent screens. By not having borders, These panels can be combined to create large, immersive projections without experiencing any interruption.
