FIMG 2016 presents the participants of the II International Congress of Light and Mapping

Within the framework of the Gerona International Mapping Festival (FIMG) 2016, which is celebrated from 19 al 23 July in Gerona, The II International Congress of Light and Mapping will also take place, a space for debate and reflection for professionals, artists and students of the sector, as well as the third edition of the International Mapping Contest.

The II International Congress of Light and Mapping, which will take place at CaixaForum in Gerona on the same dates as FIMG 2016, will feature the presence of artists such as the French Joanie Lemercier, icon of the mapping and video art revolution; the Spanish Pablo Valbuena, dedicated to the transformation of spaces through light; the German Ali M. Demirel, set designer for artists such as Richie Hawtin.

The previous artists are also joined by the Spanish specialists Eloi Maduell and Santi Vilanova, from the Playmodes audiovisual studio and those in charge of the inaugural FIMG show 2016, and the Hungarian Laszlo Bordos, 3D mapping artist for installations in theaters and operas, among other guests.

Juliette Bibasse participates in the congress curatorial area, French independent digital art producer; Amar Mulabegovic, co-founder of the prestigious Signal videomapping festival in Prague; Englishman Shane Walter, creative director in the digital field, and Arcadi Poch, curator of urban art in Spain, inter alia.

Created to offer a space for dialogue and reflection where you can meet professionals, artists and discover the latest innovations in light projection technique, The II International Congress of Light and Mapping is consolidated as a space for the exchange of knowledge and experiences, as well as a framework for establishing professional links, which in its first edition had 140 registered people from fifteen countries.

In addition to the celebration of the III International Mapping Contest (more data in Digital AV Magazine), FIMG 2016 It also offers in its programming three training workshops on this video projection technique.: Introduction to modular mapping and 3D printing; The future of mapping: stereoscopy and 360º virtual reality, and 3D design tools, that will be held at CaixaForum in Gerona del 19 al 21 next July.
