Within the framework of the Gerona International Mapping Festival (FIMG) 2016, which is celebrated from 19 al 23 July in Gerona, The II International Congress of Light and Mapping will also take place, a space for debate and reflection for professionals, artists and students of the sector, as well as the third edition of the International Mapping Contest.

The II International Congress of Light and Mapping, which will take place at CaixaForum in Gerona on the same dates as FIMG 2016, will feature the presence of artists such as the French Joanie Lemercier, icon of the mapping and video art revolution; the Spanish Pablo Valbuena, dedicated to the transformation of spaces through light; the German Ali M. Demirel, set designer for artists such as Richie Hawtin.

The previous artists are also joined by the Spanish specialists Eloi Maduell and Santi Vilanova, from the Playmodes audiovisual studio and those in charge of the inaugural FIMG show 2016, and the Hungarian Laszlo Bordos, 3D mapping artist for installations in theaters and operas, among other guests.
