Matrox Monarch LCS: H.264 encoding for recording classes and lectures

Simple to configure and integrate into any video control system, This network device allows you to define profiles for live and recorded classes or conferences, as it mixes camera images and presentation material from HDMI and SDI sources.

The new H.264 encoding system developed by Matrox –Monarch LCS– seamlessly integrates video control systems (VMS) or class control (LMS) to record classes, conferences, etc; without the need for complex recording equipment or video and audio content from the presenter, together with a computer for transmission over the Internet.

Monarch LCS allows the operator to select multiple modes of operation, como Picture-in-picture (overlapping images) y Side-by-side (images side by side), as well as a switching mode if you choose to dynamically change inputs during class.

Easily set up to capture and deliver presentation content, classes or seminars with attractive designs, The device supports productions with two HDMI video sources or one SDI and one HDMI video source to suit each installation. SDI signals can be transmitted over 100 meters with a coaxial cable, which is perfect if the camera is mounted a long distance from the encoder.

Both SDI and HDMI outputs are active and can be assigned to any input, a very useful function for making internal projections. The HDMI output also allows you to select the production output with the frame size of the encoding parameters, to preview the content that will be sent to the user who will view it remotely. Regarding audio source, can be integrated or analog.

Control and configuration of Matrox Monarch LCS is done through the device's Command Center. The interface is designed to be easy to use for the operator, with one-click operation to start coding from anywhere, in addition to incorporating several typical streaming and recording default options that define all encoding parameters, including resolution and bitrate.

Encoding parameters can be customized and combined with target settings and operating modes and saved as a single profile. If multiple users have access to the profile, Profiles can be instantly called up without having to re-enter data.

Designed to work in network environments, Monarch LCS integrates seamlessly into existing infrastructures managed by third-party asset management solutions, such as OpenCast VMS or Moodle LMS software.
