Medusa Estudio expands its sound infrastructure with the Neve Genesys G80 console

The equipment configuration that has been installed in this recording studio presents 40 faders, 80 inputs/outputs, 40 series preamplifiers 1073 Neve Classic, and EQs and Dynamics 88R series.

Medusa It's a recording studio, located in Barcelona, which has facilities of 400 square meters, where two recording rooms are located 90 y 20 square meters, a control room 50 m2, Chill out de 120 m2, a machine room 6 m2 and a Red Studio of 50 m2, which is Manu Guix's personal recording and production studio, founder together with Roger Rodés, by Medusa Estudio BCN.

The different rooms and controls are interconnected with each other, allowing various recording possibilities, being even possible, treat all spaces as if it were one. From the main control room you can manage recording simultaneously in all rooms and spaces. The studio also has a CCTV system to visually communicate the recording rooms with the main control and with Red Studio.

CSS Audiovisual Technology has been responsible for the supply and installation of the Genesys console AMS Neve, as well as the design and implementation of audio connection engineering.

The Genesys configuration that has been installed in Medusa Estudio has 40 mic/line input channels, 80 analog summing channels, 8 auxiliary buses (4 monkey and 2 stereo), 8 groups, 2 main outlets, 4 effect returns, multi-channel monitoring 5.1, large signal meters with two scales VU and dBu, Cue Mix, talkback functions, automation of motorized faders and total recall function.

The AMS Neve Genesys console installed in the studio communicates with a Pro Tools HDX system via 4 Avid AD/DA converter units and an AX32 DAD unit, and with the wide range of outboard equipment through various Signex patch panel units.

Neve Genesys is a modular analog console with digital control that offers the Neve sound, incorporates control functions for DAW system such as Pro Tools, Logic, Nuendo… and is available in configurations of 16, 24, 32, 40, 48 y 64 faders. Starting from the basic 16 faders, Genesys can be later expanded to any of the available configurations.

It also incorporates the same preamp circuitry as the unit 1073 Classic. As optional configuration items, Genesys has the EQ 1084 Classic, and the EQ and dynamics of the Neve 88R console, both configurable in eight-channel modules and A/D D/A converters via MADI, AES y firewire.
