Samsung helps commemorate the 30 years of culinary creativity at the El Celler restaurant
In one of the six spaces that make up the exhibition 'El Celler de Can Roca, from the Earth to the Moon, called total experience, is shown, through virtual reality, the work of the three Roca brothers and offers attendees the possibility of living the experience and discovering the creativity of their cuisine from a 360º perspective., the winery and the La Masía laboratory.
Samsung participates as a technological partner in 'El Celler de Can Roca, from the Earth to the Moon, an exhibition that opened its doors from 22 from November to 23 April 2017 at the Palau Robert in Barcelona to commemorate the 30 years of culinary creativity from the famous restaurant, recognized as the best in the world on two occasions. This event coincides with the year of gastronomy and wine tourism, and with the declaration of Catalonia as a European region of gastronomy.
This exhibition, which has a large audiovisual component, reviews the career of the Roca brothers, from his childhood in a humble neighborhood of Girona to his rise to the international gastronomic summit, and shows the daily activity of the Celler.
The exhibition is organized in six spaces: Memory of a bar, dedicated to the restaurant his parents ran; Training, which tells of his time at the Sant Narcís hospitality school in Girona; Kaleidoscope, covering the secrets of cooking, the wines and pastries of the three brothers; From the Earth to the Moon; Total experience; and Memento Mori, which closes the exhibition with the Moon as a symbol of the dream that has led the Roca to success.
From the Earth to the Moon summarizes the history of the 30 years of El Celler de Can Roca through 31 dishes (the first, of 1986, and the last, of 2016) and the restaurant's milestones. The opening, the first star, world leadership and the most notable events are presented in a video wall installation on the noble staircase of the Palau Robert.
The Total Experience space shows, via Samsung virtual reality, the work of the three Roca brothers and offers attendees the possibility of living the experience and discovering from a 360º perspective the creativity and excellence of the Roca brothers in the kitchen, the winery and the La Masía laboratory.
To achieve this virtual experience a set of cameras has filmed, from an omniscient perspective, the work that is carried out at the same time of the service at El Celler de Can Roca. Besides, In this area you can experience a service at El Celler from the point of view of a diner..
The creativity of El Celler is the result of the sum of three different and complementary personalities. In the Kaleidoscope section, The Roca brothers are presented in a triptych with three projections that highlight each of the personalities: cocina (Joan), wines (Josep) and pastries (Jordi).
The triptych is the entrance to the creative kaleidoscope of El Celler that they have identified through 16 concepts or creative lines, which are grouped into two axes: Time and Space.
The knowledge associated with the axis of Time, that goes from the past to the future, is specified in the succession Memory, Tradition, Academicism, Technological innovation and transversality. To these concepts is added La Masía, creativity incubator and knowledge management tool to build the future, located near the restaurant.
