ClayPaky ilumina la obra Heaven, which closes Wrocław as European Capital of Culture
For the staging of this theatrical production, about 100 Mythos mobile spotlights, Sharpy y A.leda B-Eye K20, with which a spectacular combination of effects was created, light and color.
To celebrate the completion of Wrocław as the European Capital of Culture, the play Niebo was organized in the Centennial Hall and nearly one hundred mobile spotlights were used to stage it. ClayPaks.
Lighting designer Pawal 'Spider' Pajak was in charge of lighting the closing production in Wroclaw on the occasion of the celebration of the European Capital of Culture 2016, who used Mythos projectors, Sharpy and A.leda B-eye K20 to create a combination of effects, light and color.
“Centennial Hall is a fairly high space and for this production we needed to hang all the fixtures at a distance of between 23 y 24 meters above stage level. This meant having to look for bright, quality spotlights that could offer the same performance at long distances.”, comments the Spider illuminator.
For the Niebo theater production, 20 Mythos model equipment, a hybrid between spot and beam, which were arranged in groups of five devices on the stage. The effects of the device and its two interchangeable and variable gobo wheels grouped the projection of each of Niebo's scenes.
“I found the Mythos to be an important part for the projection on stage, offering me the possibility to dramatize the environment as I wanted. The devices have offered me the possibility of illuminating the architecture of space 360º. For Niebo's last scene, I used the Sharpys with which I created a circular curtain of light”.
The beams of light illuminated the four large metal sculptures that joined with a fifth sculpture in the last scene, forming a complete metal structure.
The effects came from the 40 A.leda B-Eye K20 units. It's ClayPaky wash, which distributes in Spain Stonex, was strategically placed around the stage in groups of five. Features a rotating optic 32 Independently operable LEDs providing the ability to create dense wash effects and dynamic color palettes.
“The B-EYE K20 are brilliant to illuminate the ground with them. I used them in sweeping wash mode and then used a lens shift, controlling the LEDs individually which allowed me to create a light and shadow effect on the stage.
