“Daktronics accompanies the client throughout the useful life of the project, with a support that differentiates us from the rest”, Ivan del Rio
Led screens with high density and resolution pixel pitch, with designs of any size, curved and transparent to respond to any type of project, whether small or large, are some differentials that Iván del Río, South Europe Regional Manager de Daktronics, stands out in this video interview conducted during his participation in ISE 2017, which are reflected in important and spectacular installations such as the one carried out at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid., among others.
With a wide range of Led display solutions, applicable to particular projects, from the smallest to large installations, the multinational Daktronics responds to “all sectors that may be likely to need screens with LED technology”, says Iván del Río, South Europe Regional Manager de Daktronics.
This was shown during the manufacturer's participation in WHEREAS 2017 where this video interview was conducted, in which Del Río points out the technological differentials that have marked the company's growth in the market, such as high dynamic range (HDR in its English acronym), which refers to the color depth and resolution in bits with which they process the signal.
“Daktronics has a standard in the treatment of color depth, what is always maintaining 16 bits of resolution -this manager points out-, well above what most management and control systems in the industry offer, which allows the same color depth to continue to be maintained even at different levels of brightness and intensity of the screen, Which is what really attracts the public's attention.".
Added to this is his continuous commitment to the projects he carries out.. “We are not a typical manufacturer. Daktronics applies all its knowledge, all its level of engineering and project management during the genesis, the development, the design concepts of the solution to be implemented, its installation and, of course, the start-up. We accompany the client throughout the useful life of the project until the end, providing support that has clearly differentiated us from all other competitors”.
With this business philosophy, Del Río highlights relevant projects with great technical challenges, like the one carried out nationally at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, headquarters of Real Madrid, with the installation of new video markers. “It was a great technical challenge, since the new screens tripled the space in which the old ones were located, smaller, on the edge of the cover; “a structure that was not prepared to support a greater load”.
A challenge successfully overcome that included the collaboration of the manufacturer, the integrator and the white club's own technical team “and with the result of which we are very satisfied, since they don't only work on match days, but for about twelve hours a day as part of the visit to the museum and the stadium”.
Del Río also highlights the completion of the project in the network of railway stations in Switzerland (SBB), with the change of all panels to technology 4 mm propia de Daktronics, which may also include advertising; as well as the impressive installations made in Los Angeles, with a forced perspective screen at the SLS Casino, technology that could also be seen at ISE 2017; or the award to London's Piccadilly Circus of a single curved flat screen of 8 mm “which will be completed in October of this year and will be one of the great international references” (more data in Digital AV).
With an optimistic and growing vision of the future, both in indoor installations and in outdoor advertising screens, Del Río lacks legal regulations applicable to this type of facilities, mainly in the European market and, obviously in Spain, “which hinders and delays the expansion of outdoor advertising screens, with some exception, like the city of london, with a very mature market”.
