Changi T4 installs one of the largest indoor screens in the world in an airport
Expected to open before the end of the year, This terminal has been built with the most innovative technologies, including a 70-degree video wall.×5 which has been custom designed by NanoLumens using their Led Nixel solution.
Singapore International Airport, also known as Changi, It is on the list of the best airports in the world and is one of the largest in Asia in terms of movement. Located at 20 kilometers from the city's commercial area and less than five from the regional center of Tampines, has a wide range of facilities to inform and entertain passengers.
The new T4 terminal, which is scheduled to open before the end of the year, continues to bet on technology and, for it, has cleaning robots and self-service systems for check-in, billing and boarding that will incorporate facial recognition readers. It also has two modern Led screens NanoLumens Performance Series that showcases high-definition digital content 24 hours of the day, developed by Moment Factory.
One of these screens is located above the security detection area of T4. It is an 'Immersive Wall' of 70 meters wide by 5 tall whose display has a pixel pitch of 6 mm. A display stand that is considered one of the largest screens in the world installed inside an airport.
The second screen designed with NanoLumens technology is located in the 'Heritage' zone., exit transit space, and it has a size of 10×6 meters with 4 mm de pixel pitch. This has been built directly on a 'shophouse' type façade with several artificial fronts that seek to highlight the evolution of architectural design since 1880 to the years 50.
To respond to the project requirements, NanoLumens has created a custom solution for Changi Airport based on a redesign of its Nixel Series technology that adapts to Moment Factory content.
The solution required several mechanical improvements to exceed EMI specifications, EMC and other RFPs. New rigid Nixel technology is optimized to be flat, with a larger diode to offer greater brightness and with maintenance on the back.
Both screens run their content throughout the day. El ‘Immersive Wall’ shows how geometric waves flow and 3D animations, as well as picturesque scenes of Singapore, and a fun animation of an imaginary journey that carries luggage from check-in.
Besides, The Heritage zone display is integrated into the façade that comprises the second floor of two of the buildings and reproduces the 'Peranakan Love Story', a movie set in 1930 in singapore. Video appears to blend into buildings, giving passersby an insight into the country's cultural history.
“This has been one of the most rigorous and competitive projects in which we have participated.. We met and exceeded all the specifications that were required, including weight, power, glow, viewing angles, electromagnetic compatibility and electronic magnetic interference limits”, explains Almir DeCarvalho, Vice President of Sales at NanoLumens.
From the installation of these NanoLumnes screens, as well as other innovative technologies of this terminal, The integrator Electronics has been commissioned & Engineering PTE (E&E).
