Led screen technology versus projection: Samsung's alternative in movie theaters

The Samsung Cinema Led screen debuts in Europe to “mark the beginning of a new era for movie theaters”, according to the manufacturer.

Samsung Cinema Led is formed by 96 modules that can be replaced individually. The special format with resolution of 4,096×2.160p (Full 4K) allows viewing of the two common film formats: flat y scope, eliminating the grayish bands typical of projectors. By not having a projection beam, a really intense black is achieved, and the image is always sharp and aligned in all areas of the screen.

Another argument of this LED screen technology compared to traditional projection in movie theaters is that its luminosity is ten times more than that provided by conventional projectors.; with an intensity of up to 500 nits o 146 fL (foot-lambert) and much lower energy consumption.

Content produced in HDR format (High Dynamic Range) are reproduced optimally thanks to high contrast levels, while the brightness of the colors is preserved even in the brightest scenes and the details are visible in the darkest scenes.

The surround sound technology associated with the Cinema Led screen corresponds to the audio manufacturer JBL Professional, of Harman Group, that with its Sculpted Surround system and the innovative design of its speakers create surround sound, crisp and natural that is evenly distributed throughout the room.
