Spanish technology in the technical development and museographic integration of The Founder's Memorial

an installation, which opened its doors to the public last 22 April, formed by an artistic work of monumental character, called The Constellation, surrounded by public space with gardens, and an interpretation center that has cutting-edge multimedia elements.
Acciona Productions and Design (APD) has carried out the technical development and museographic implementation of The Founder’s Memorial, the first intervention carried out by this company in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, with the incorporation of advanced audiovisual resources to narrate the life and legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The so-called Welcome Center of this facility has as its most iconic element a screen, with a size of 23×3 metros, shaped like ‘L’, in which an audiovisual production is projected in high resolution, carried out by APD, from the collection of personal images of the president, audios with the voice of Sheikh Zayed himself and interviews with people close to the first president of the United Arab Emirates.
In addition, on another large screen that occupies the central area of this space, a projectedmaking of about the creation of the memorial and the monumental work The Constellation. This artistic installation is located in a pavilion of 30 meters high, and has been designed by the American artist Ralph Helmick.
The work is made up of 1.327 geometric shapes, suspended on more than a thousand cables, that recreate the image of Sheikh Zayed in a three-dimensional way, which can be seen in this way from different points of view. At night, These shapes shine, evoking the timelessness of Sheikh Zayed's vision of the unity of the United Arab Emirates as a nation..
The visit to the memorial is complemented by outdoor spaces. The landscaped areas include a wide variety of plants and trees native to the United Arab Emirates and the Arabian Peninsula, in tribute to Sheikh Zayed's commitment to local flora and fauna.
The central plaza surrounding the art installation, called Sanctuary Garden, offers visitors rest areas and features such as a traditional water channel paralysis, representing the ancient irrigation systems of the Arabian Peninsula, as well as the garden called Heritage Garden, where you can find plants that have been traditionally used for their medicinal properties.
