The European monitor market grows by 8% with AOC-MMD as references
After a stagnation during 2017, the European monitor market has grown, reaching a rate of 8% in the first quarter of 2018, according to the latest figures from analyst Context.
The data of Context placed in a 8% the growth of the monitor market in Europe from January to April of this year. Large screen sizes (of 24,5 a 35”) and high resolution (QHD and UHD), panoramic, curved, etc. have contributed to this increase, while the market share of screens smaller than 23-24” continued to decline.
In this environment and period, the combination of AOC y MMD, Monitor Licensed Partner Philips, has doubled market growth, with a 16%. The market share of both brands meant the achievement of the number one position, with AOC showing an increase in volume of the 28% compared to the first quarter of last year, according to Context.
While the monitor market grew by 17% in Spain, compared to the first quarter of 2017, AOC and Philips have achieved a 26%, securing second position, with a participation of 14% total, which constitutes an increase in 1% compared to the previous year in the same period.
In the 31.5” monitor segment, AOC managed to increase its market share from 0 still 27,3% in just one year (of the first quarter of 2017 at the same period in 2018), placing itself in first place; along with the 35”, with a share in the market 30,9% in the first quarter of 2018. On larger screen sizes, Philips dominates the ranges of 40 y 43”, with a 36,9% y 40,8%, respectively, of market share.
