Fifteen projectors Roadster WU20K-J made possible three videomapping on the facades of the Cathedral of the city and the churches of Santo Domingo and San Francisco.

It is the third festival of lights organized by the Municipality of Quito and that artistically illuminates the main historical buildings of the city. This year coincided with the 40 anniversary of the declaration of Quito as Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The event was visited by 2,5 millions of people who toured the historic center for five nights.

The Ecuadorian rental company & Staging 3Laser was responsible for the mapping projections of the party. The company had to face the challenges presented by this city to make outdoor projections. his 2.800 meters of height and the high pollution suffered by the city directly affects the teams.

"We have done tests with projectors of 18.000 lumens and WUXGA resolution from other brands, and the lamps lasted half because they lack filters; they only have filters for optics. The pollution then goes directly to the bulb and that produces a black veil over the glass, as well as dust on the reflector. In addition, to 2800 meters high fans rotate faster and air is lighter, which causes the sensors of the projectors to indicate that the optics filter is covered. To make them work without error you have to remove the filter, and that decreases the life of the optics by the dust", comments Ángel Cuesta, director of 3Laser.

For Angel Cuesta, Christie projectors solve all these problems. "In the 156 mappings that we have made with them, have always worked as new. And that some have more than 4.000 hours of use".

The director of 3Laser also highlights christie's 3DLP technology projectors their size and weight "which are ideal to place in uncomfortable places, plus they can work in portrait mode. likewise, image and color remain stable over time. And they are very quick to set up."
