Madatac celebrates ten years of digital culture and AV technology with a hundred creative works
Until next time 24 February and with the motto of 'Post digital star', to show everything that happens in video art and newmedia from all points of view, Madatac celebrates ten years as a reference in AV digital culture and experimental art, which this year materializes with its own headquarters.
The Exhibition of Digital Audiovisual Art and Advanced Contemporary Technologies (Madatac), celebrates its ten years of activity as a reference in disseminating audiovisual culture and creativity and experimental art. Since its inauguration, the past 13 February at the NH Eurobuilding hotel, until the next day 24 of the same month, Madrid hosts more than a hundred works by artists from all over the world.
In celebration of its tenth edition, One of the novelties is the opening of its own headquarters in Madrid, in The Digital Ship, a pioneering space in Spain dedicated to video art and creative new media with programming of events and activities throughout the year, and that in this edition it will be one of the main stages that will host interactive and immersive virtual reality installations, 3D sound, video mapping, among others.
Of the hundred artistic works displayed at Madatac 2019, participation in the official section is 51, which will be shown in six sessions at the Madrid Cineteca (whose awards will be announced at the closing gala of the 24 February); a space where the public can also enjoy the performances and audiovisual concerts of Kenta Nakagawa; Franck Vigroux & Antoine Schmitt; Bromo and Ryoji Ikeda.
As in past editions (more data in Digital AV), Madatac's proposal 2019 complete with interactive installations, activities and meetings in other of the festival's usual settings, as MediaLab Prado or the Circle of Fine Arts.
Besides, and for the first time at the festival, a children's program has been created (of 4 a 12 years), called Madatakids, with audiovisual artistic works specifically created for this small digital native audience.
