Shopify installs Crestron touch screens to manage its meetings

With the help of Crestron and its TSW visualization solution, This multi-channel platform has created an efficient workplace, connected and collaborative.

The founders of Shopify They started selling snowboard equipment over the Internet more than fifteen years ago.. But they wanted to do more than sell goods; they wanted to own their brand and build relationships with customers. There was no e-commerce tool that allowed them to do this, so they built it themselves. They soon realized that other stores needed a platform to build their retail business., and thus was born this Canadian company that operates today.

Shopify is the multi-channel platform for online stores and retail point-of-sale systems, that supplies more than 800.000 companies in approximately 175 countries and generated 41.000 million dollars in gross merchandise volume in just 2018.

In 2017, added 99.060 square meters of space at its headquarters in Ottawa (Canada). The goal was to create a more efficient workplace, connected and collaborative.

The AV infrastructure specialist, Galina Tsyganovskaya, and his team were tasked with finding a new enterprise room scheduling solution that could integrate with Robin's software, the company's existing platform. The option was the technology of Crestron.

“After discovering that TSW room scheduling touch screens would not only integrate natively with our existing Robin scheduling software, but they would also eliminate the inconsistencies my team was experiencing when deploying, manage and monitor tablets, we knew Crestron was the way to go”, comenta Tsyganovskaya. Later, decided to replace all tablets with Crestron TSW room scheduling touch screens.

Crestron touch screens, that natively run Robin programming software, are mounted outside each meeting space, so employees can immediately see if a stay is available and for how long.

They allow you to book meetings, view the full schedule for the day and even reserve a time for later in the day. They can also check-in, extend the current meeting and end a meeting early so that the room is returned to inventory.

Another advantage of these touch screens becomes evident in the event of a power outage.. Previously, Shopify IT staff had to manually reboot each tablet and then reconnect it to the network. Crestron's solution eliminated this downtime.

TSW touchscreens are also used within meeting spaces to provide integrated one-touch control of everything in the room., including lights, screens, audio and video.
