To incorporate IP technology, more than 160 Dicentis conference system discussion units, with touch screen, in all three committee rooms of Parliament.

The Finnish company Caverion designs, crea, manages and maintains intelligent and efficient solutions, from an energy point of view, for buildings, industries and infrastructure. With offices in eleven countries and more than 16.000 employees, The construction giant is a champion of innovative design in Europe's most prestigious projects, as reflected in the one carried out in the Parliament of Finland.

After installing a wide range of technologies throughout Parliament, Caverion's audio systems department turned its attention to committee rooms, which constitute the backbone of the Finnish legislative branch.

Dear Juhana Kari, Caverion project manager, and for Parliament's own IT planner, Jarmo Erling, the need for new future-proof conferencing systems offered the opportunity to introduce IP communication into the building, But it also entailed a huge responsibility., since it had to be guaranteed that the solution would work perfectly.

With this goal in mind, Kari and Erling have collaborated to introduce committee rooms to IP technology with the Dicentis conferencing system from Bosch. “IP communication is becoming an increasingly important element in audio distribution. I can affirm that almost one hundred percent of the new projects we are working on are based on IP”, Kari confirmed.

IP communication provides latency-free, compression-free digital audio with the highest quality, while encryption technologies, globally recognized, guarantee privacy and security.

Dicentis IP solution is future-proofed as Omneo is based on the Ethernet standard, allowing technology improvement with software updates.

Using existing IT infrastructure makes IP communication a very cost-effective option, since the audio, Video and meeting data can be transmitted over an Ethernet cable and very little technical training is required to install the system.

The three large committee rooms have been equipped with Bosch Dicentis solutions, two of them based on IP. In the largest, a total of 75 Dicentis debate units with touch screen serve the members of Parliament who meet in this large baroque space.

Fence, a slightly smaller room, has 25 Dicentis discussion units with touch screen, combined with comprehensive camera tracking provided by three HD cameras. In another part of the building, a third room uses 63 Dicentis wireless discussion units with touch screen.

“As our audio has become part of the IP network, It is very easy to control and monitor. Parliament chambers are easily connected via the IP network.”, notes Erling.
