‘UHD Spain’ becomes the permanent national forum on 4K-UHD technology

Medina Media promotes this initiative and is committed to launching it next 8 November, coinciding with the celebration of 4K-HDR Summit and Málaga 4K Fest in this Andalusian city.

Spain will have its permanent national forum on Ultra High Definition before the end of this year (UHD), just as has already happened in Germany, Great Britain, France and Italy, which will be open to all companies (national and multinational), producers and professionals who are currently part of the ecosystem of this new technology of the AV industry.

Ricardo Medina, Group CEO Medina Media, has announced the UHD Spain initiative, which has set a date and place for its constitution: he 8 November in Malaga, coinciding with the closing of the fifth edition of the 4K-HDR Summit, international event on Ultra High Definition (UHD) organized by this company, with the awards ceremony Malaga 4KFest, currently a benchmark in short documentary festivals worldwide, to which more than five hundred works of 47 countries.

“UHD Spain will be a non-profit association that in 2020 will have activities scheduled quarterly -explains Ricardo Medina-, and will have the blessing of the UHD World Forum and the UHD World Alliance, the two major associations that support the development of Ultra High Definition”.

Unlike Germany's Ultra High Definition associations, Great Britain, France and Italy, which are heirs of previous initiatives on DTT and High Definition (HD), In the case of UHD Spain it will be newly created and will be open to everyone dedicated to this technology..

The rise of 4K-UHD in Spain is a technological and content phenomenon that has been driven by the demand for new platforms, who require that all their productions be recorded and can be produced in UHD to be distributed with the highest quality to their clients around the world.
