CAT Telecom is the state-owned company responsible for Thailand's international telecommunications infrastructure, including network connections through gateways, satellite and submarine cable access. Your network control center (CCR) in Bangkok recently performed an AV upgrade, which has included the replacement of a video wall system. Esté llevaba en el centro diez años y mostraba imágenes en baja resolución y poco brillo, in addition to not being compatible with HDMI signals.

With a configuration of 8×7, is made up of LCD monitors 55 inches and thin bezel. Shown as a larger system offering high-brightness, high-resolution images from HDMI sources, DVI y VGA. Whether viewed from the CCR operators' stations or through the observation windows of the upstairs meeting room, The video wall provides a completely clear view of the status of Thailand's telecommunication system.

This allows drivers to do their job without straining their eyes.. Detailed network maps of CCR computers are displayed in high resolution along with other related video streams in different window layouts provided by the Extron Quantum Elite processor.

High quality and resolution images

Extron at CAT Telecom ThailandOld CAT video wall produced dim, low-resolution images. This is why a system that could produce readable images was needed., high resolution, of network maps and other graphics with precise details.

The Quantum Elite system used in the CCR is compatible with signals from HDMI sources, DVI and VGA via XTP scaler receivers. Features a dedicated high-speed video/graphics bus that provides the processing bandwidth necessary to deliver high-performance video scaling that preserves image quality at full frame rates, producing source content with detail, which is essential for an efficient workflow in the CCR.

The CAT Network Operations Center operates 24 hours a day, los 365 days of the year. Quantum Elite is designed to offer continuous fail-safe service, from its redundant, hot-swappable power supplies and fans, to your solid state storage, which reduces the risk of hard drive failure.

CCR staff rely on the display for the accuracy and timeliness of data on which important network control decisions are based.

To ensure that visual data is consistently displayed in the correct areas of the video wall, preconfigured window presets are recalled, using a custom user interface on a TouchLink Pro TLP Pro 725T touchscreen 7 inches, that communicates with the Quantum/control computer through an IP Link IPCP Pro control processor 250. The same selections can be made from a WiFi-connected iPad using Extron LinkLicense for user interfaces. Created a custom user interface using free Extron GUI Designer software.

Twelve XTP transmitters on a wall plate 2 Inputs on operators' workstations accept HDMI or VGA from computers or other sources, and transmit the signals to 100 metros, via twisted pair cable, to the XTP scaling receivers which in turn transmit to the Quantum Elite inputs.

Quantum Elite has nine outputs, expanded by DA Series HD 4K distribution amplifiers that provide video over 56 HDMI cables to each of the LCD screens on the video wall.

“The high-resolution images provided by the new video wall system allow CAT operators to clearly view detailed information, like network maps, which were practically impossible to read with the old system. The improved readability has resulted in a significant increase in the productivity of the CCR operator.”, comentor Tucous Maruthaalard de Sam Allanc.
