Color Kinetics headquarters becomes the showcase for Signify's Led innovation

A highlight of this innovation are what are known as the two 'bright and dynamic corridor' portals. (Glowing portal), leading to opposite wings of the office building, which are covered by 24.350 individually controllable Led nodes.

These hallways, of 8 meters long each, have been designed by the specialist Focus Lighting, with the aim of showing some of the infinite dynamic effects that Color Kinetics Led systems can create, controlled by fiber optics.

The challenge Focus Lighting faced in this project was to integrate art, light and architecture in a multipurpose corporate headquarters, a showroom and engineering workplace using the company's Led systems.

The design of this space required that the semi-transparent acrylic panels be backlit by individually controlled LED nodes.. The panels, 1” thick, provide the desired level of diffusion, while allowing nodes to be like 'pixels' to create intricate designs and low-resolution video presentations.

The product specified for this effect is iColor Flex SL, a strand of light composed of fifty RGB nodes with individual addresses. Approximately 11.000 nodes of this system, with clear and flat lenses, line the opposite walls of each hallway.

The nodes have been installed behind the acrylic panels in vertical runs on a mounting rail. This design maintains linear alignment and cable management for iColor Flex runs. To achieve the desired resolution, nodes were spaced in 2” increments, both vertically and horizontally.

Dynamic hallways are a benchmark of innovation and inspiration, while providing a meeting point and exchange of ideas for both employees and visitors. For your part, The showroom is surrounded by backlit Led curtains to provide a clean and colorful background to highlight the products.
