Panasonic projection technology establishes itself in the world of culture
One of the great achievements in this sense has been the use of its equipment in the largest immersive videomapping in Europe, held for the second time in the Plaza Mayor of Madrid this year.
With the aim of putting technology at the service of society, one of the biggest challenges of the professional AV division of Panasonic is to develop and provide solutions for the world of education and culture.
In its alliance with the world of culture for years, The company has observed that one of the keys is to involve the viewer in the creations it makes., creating an immersive experience through projections that energize museums, buildings and including classes.
This year, Panasonic has consolidated its presence in the world of culture with actions in which its technology has been an ideal ally for the dissemination of knowledge in countries around the world., like the United States, Singapore, Portugal, Spain, inter alia.
Plaza Mayor, a milestone in 2019
One of the great achievements during this year that is about to end has been the installation of the largest videomapping in Europe, held in the month of February 2019 in the Plaza Mayor of Madrid to close all activities, carried out during the preceding years, to commemorate its IV Centenary and which was repeated for three days to offer the possibility to those who could not enjoy it the first time.
This 360° videomapping covered the four facades of the Plaza Mayor during its eighteen minutes duration. (5.200 square meters), with the provision of video solutions, sound and lighting by G-AV Technologies, under the technical direction of Borja Gonzalez López.
Designed and created by Óscar Testón, director of One Cinema and creator of the visuals and zapping portal Vjspain, This 360º projection was completed with the music of composer Rubén Kielmannsegge, that accompanies this visual journey with that of music with baroque touches, epics and cinematic orchestras.
As Testón points out, “Panasonic technology has allowed me to illustrate the ideas I created with my team, with spectacular clarity on a very complex background. The reddish façade was a technical challenge that we managed to overcome thanks to the fact that its systems made it possible to see all the details of the show”.
Yes ok, as noted above, It is not the first time that this commemoration show takes place in Plaza Mayor in Madrid, It is not expected to be the last either.. Awarded on more than one occasion during previous reproductions, This 360º projection work has a first prize for Best Cultural Event at the B.E.A awards. World (Best Events Award) 2017 and with equal recognition for the Best 360º Audiovisual in the Visual Artist Awards 2018.

To create a display that was totally immersive and as involving as possible for viewers, twenty-four Panasonic projectors were installed., specifically twenty of the RZ31 model (with a shine of 31.000 lumens) and four from RQ22 (of 20.000 lumens).
