Sono Grill once again relies on Bose sound for its restaurant in Artz Pedregal

The decoration of this place, located in Mexico City, includes brick walls, huge windows, planters with natural plants and roofs with different wooden structures. Among these elements have been installed 13 EdgeMax EM180 speakers and five MB210 subwoofers.

Located in the luxurious shopping center Artz Pedregal from Mexico City, the restaurant Sonora Grill Prime combines top quality cuts of meat, great service, comfortable spaces, a pleasant musical selection and excellent sound.

Due to its architectural concept, This restaurant required an audio system that offered great coverage and sound power, and that would blend with its modern design.

To satisfy these needs, the integrator AudioVideo Plan decided to use technology Bose Professional as an audiovisual solution. Specifically, EdgeMax speakers have been installed, in conjunction with the compact MB210 subwoofers, a ControlSpace ESP-880A processor and a pair of PowerMatch PM8500 amplifiers.

For nine years, Planica has designed and integrated audiovisual systems in more than 30 restaurants of this Mexican gastronomic group, using Bose Professional equipment in all of them. According to Gustavo Bruce, Planning Engineering Manager, The concept of Sonora Grill maintains its essence as a pleasant and stylish steakhouse, but it has evolved and, now, greater emphasis is placed on the image of restaurants, your lighting and interior design.

“The Sonora Grill experience includes great music and high-quality audio, but now the architects request that the installation of the speakers be as discreet as possible, with the challenge of maintaining power, clarity and sound coverage that is required to create the atmosphere that the public seeks when visiting them”, explains Gustavo Bruce.

Artz Pedregal's Sonora Grill Prime restaurant, inaugurated in mid 2019, it is very wide, It has a couple of large rooms with dozens of tables, bar area and a private lounge.

And among all these elements, Plan located 13 EdgeMax EM180 speakers and five MB210 compact subwoofers, equipment that overcomes the challenge posed by the architects responsible for the project.

“The EdgeMax series met the power and coverage demands that Sonora Grill Prime presented to us in Artz Pedregal. We used few speakers and distributed them so that they covered as much space as possible, since when the restaurant is full a higher sound pressure level is required, especially during the nights when the atmosphere becomes more festive”, Gustavo comments.
EdgeMax speakers are designed for ceiling or ceiling mounting and feature patented Bose PhaseGuide technology, that provides wide sound coverage to fill the space in which they are installed and improve the overall sound quality.

EdgeMax EM180 provides nominal 180° horizontal coverage, so it is better to install it on the ceiling, near the limits of the wall, or centered along coverage zones.

“Due to the sound dispersion of the EdgeMax speakers, it is difficult to perceive where the sound is coming from, so it feels like it's part of the general atmosphere, which contributes to generating a comprehensive experience”, adds Gustavo Bruce. “The difference in sound pressure is very little noticeable, whether you are under the speaker or six meters away. You don't have to turn the music volume up too much., which makes people feel comfortable and can talk without having to raise their voice”.

In the private room, which is generally rented for work meetings or different celebrations, Planica installed a video screen, FreeSpace speakers and a ControlSpace CC-16 zone controller to facilitate the presentation of different audiovisual content.

Like the rest of the group's restaurants, Artz Pedregal's Sonora Grill Prime has a DJ booth that mixes music every night. This is equipped with a versatile compact S1 Pro speaker from Bose Professional, in your DJ monitor app.

The Bose Professional system is complemented by three FreeSpace DS16F speakers, dos FreeSpace DS40F, un FreeSpace DS40SE, of FreeSpace satellites 3, one Panaray MB4 modular subwoofer and one Acustimass FreeSpace bass module 3 to reinforce the sound in some specific areas, plus a ControlSpace CC-64 control center to operate the ControlSpace ESP-880A processor.
