Meyer Sound asiste a ISE 2020 with a new advance in spatial sound
Demonstrations of new surround sound design and mixing tool Spacemap Go is one of the key elements of your Amsterdam attendance.
In WHEREAS 2020, Meyer Sound, brand represented in Spain by RMS Pro Audio, is introducing the Ultra-X20 speaker and USW-112P subwoofer; as well as the digital tool for designing and mixing surround sound systems, Spacemap Go.
The new products, along with a wide selection of existing product offers and the usual 'Sonic Lounge' section, can be found at their booth (1-M90). Besides, the demonstration room, at the Okura Amsterdam Hotel, hosts presentations of the new surround sound tool.
“ISE has grown to become the European and global meeting point. The importance of this fair for Meyer Sound is reflected not only in that it is the platform for the debut of our new products., but also in the amount of resources and personnel we bring to this show”, comment John John McMahon. senior vice president of sales and marketing.
Spacemap Go
Spatial or surround sound is becoming a booming trend in the entertainment industry. Demonstrations of MeyerSound's new tool for spatial sound design and mixing are a highlight of their presentations at ISE.
“Our current user base, as well as the new, They are going to be amazed by this new tool because it takes advantage of the processing hardware that many of them already have. By adding this software and a low-cost tablet interface, Sound designers and mixers can add live spatial sound to their automated workflows with great ease”, Team Boot affirmation, Global Brand Strategist de Meyer Sound.
Spacemap Go leverages the processing power of the company's Galaxy network platform. After installing software and firmware updates for Galaxy, New Spacemap Go app for iOS provides a flexible, easy-to-use touchpad interface for multi-channel panoramic scanning, using one or more connected iPads.
With almost 4.000 Galaxy speaker processors sold to date, Spacemap Go allows this large existing user base to configure, program and implement sophisticated spatial sound mixes with great ease and cost-effectiveness.
Spacemap Go can be used in a system of up to four Galaxy speaker processors in any combination, including models 408, 816 and 816-AES3, offering a wide range of input and output configurations.
iOS app will be released simultaneously with updates to Compassy Compass Go control software and Galaxy firmware. Multiple iPads can be used simultaneously, allowing a single operator or multiple users to customize the workflow to meet performance requirements.
Spacemap Go supports automated and live workflows on the fly. Full integration with QLab and DAW is planned.
Compact, self-powered speakers
The two new speakers incorporate the latest generation of Meyer Sound advances in acoustic enclosure configuration, transducer design, amplification technology and rigging systems.
“These speakers set higher benchmarks for versatility. For one of the new acoustic enclosures, The power/size ratio is exceptional and they are very easy to move and assemble. With three different rotating diffuser configurations, Coverage pattern can be chosen to meet any requirement”, explains Pablo Espinosa, vice president and head of speaker design at Meyer Sound.
The new speakers, compact and self-powered, Leverage a new generation of technologies to provide optimal versatility to cover a wide range of installed and portable applications.
The Ultra-X20 speaker is a smaller version of the Ultra X-40 speaker model., with the same design principles and technologies, but uses smaller drivers.
Incorporates two 5” cone drivers, one diaphragm compression 2″ and a 110 rotating horn×50 degrees in a coaxial configuration. Power comes from a highly efficient three-channel Class D amplifier with sophisticated DSP. All installed within a compact cabinet measuring 19.5×48,4×21,8 cm and weight 11,8 kilos.
Preliminary performance specifications offer an operating frequency range of 60 Hz a 18 kHz, a phase response of ±45° (100 Hz – 16 kHz) and a linear peak SPL of 123,5 dB measured with M-Noise.
For extended low frequency power, The Ultra-X20 can be combined with the new USW-112P subwoofer, the 750-LFC low frequency control element or the USW-210P subwoofer.
Subwoofer USW-112P
The compact USW-112P subwoofer packs robust low-frequency performance into a slim, self-powered package that measures less than 30 cm deep. Slanted connector panel allows placement flush with walls, in portrait or landscape orientation, making it an ideal option when stage or facility space is limited.
Houses a single 12" long excursion driver″ along with an efficient class D amplifier and advanced digital signal processing. Cabinet design features a low speed port, based on the USW-210P, with tuning optimized for linear response and low distortion.
Preliminary performance specifications include a linear peak output of 123 dB SPL over an operating frequency range of 35 Hz a 140 Hz.
Versions of the USW-112P are offered with direct AC power or for integration into systems using IntelligentDC, Meyer Sound's exclusive technology to deliver DC power and audio from a remote rack-mount unit via a single cable.
An optional U-bracket makes mounting to a truss easy, ceiling or wall. A weather-protected version uses sealed connectors (IP-X4 or higher rating), eliminating the need for rain hoods.
