Like in other countries, companies, technical professionals, audio organizations, video, lightning, equipment rental and even 37 associations will mobilize in Spain next 17 September for institutions to meet their needs.

The consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic have seriously affected many sectors and industries, as is the case of all agents involved in holding events and shows, of culture in general.

The entertainment and events sector brings together professionals and companies with a direct impact on the economic fabric of the country. 3,8% of Spanish GDP, according to market estimates, and is the creator of 700.000 related jobs.

It is a very heterogeneous and fragmented sector., with the essential characteristic of transversality and dependence on other sectors, such as Culture and Sports, Industry and Tourism.

With the aim of making these institutions aware of the serious economic situation that professionals are going through, companies and organizations at this time, the next 17 In September the mobilization #AlertaRoja #VamosEventos will take place, that brings together 37 associations and participatory movements.

All of them have created this organization ad hoc, based on the International Movement of the Cultural Industry of Entertainment and Events, and with presence in seven countries, the most recent held a few days ago in Berlin (Germany).

A call that is being lived throughout the world, with initiatives to give visibility to “the vulnerability and current helplessness of the sector in this extreme situation”, that has united the industry under a single voice "always from our independence and firmly believing that the only way for the sector to be taken into account is the 'UNION' of all the parties involved".

This call will take place in Albacete, Alicante, Almeria, Barcelona, Bilbao, Fuerteventura, Gijon, Granada, Ibiza, The Palms, Logroño, Lleida, Madrid, Málaga, Oviedo, Palma de Mallorca, Pamplona, Santander, Sevilla, Tarragona, Tenerife, Valencia, Valladolid, Vigo, Vitoria and Zaragoza.

From Red alert the pooling of resources has been agreed, tools, knowledge, effort and work, “with a clear objective and under an unwavering commitment from all parties, to carry out different simultaneous mobilizations that will be governed by the calm and tranquility of all participants, and exceptional health security that shows once again that events can be held safely”.

These mobilizations aim to put pressure on the Ministries of Labor, Economy, Culture and Industry to take urgent measures in the coming weeks to alleviate this dramatic situation. For this, They propose creating a sectoral table that defines the needs and specific specifications of this entire labor network., cultural and social, of undoubted importance for the Spanish economy and society.

The ultimate goal, once the urgent needs that allow the survival of the sector are addressed from the institutions, is the creation of a sectoral table “where all the parties involved are represented, with the purpose of dignifying it, regulate and professionalize it”.

As a cohesion tool for the organization of the #17S the portal has been created www.alertarojaeventos.com, in which all organizations, Companies and professionals “are invited to join and support the mobilization, illuminating buildings in red - they explain from the AAI -, joining the first unified directory in the sector, contributing to giving a united visibility to all professionals and knowing the real weight of all of us who are part of it, in order to define the sector and lay the foundations for its (re) construction".

Besides, the next 30 September there will be a Global Day, so that professionals from all over the world will come together to give voice to the sector on the same day and in which thousands of buildings around the world will illuminate their facades and their scenic spaces in red, alarming about the situation of collapse suffered by the sector.

As the AAI emphasizes, “All participation is welcome.”, even the smallest gesture counts.
