Ideum develops a contactless pedestal for video walls, large format and projection screens

This solution is equipped with a round LCD screen of 3,5 inches, while Led lights provide information to visitors when they interact.

The same thing has taken another step towards the development of contactless devices in public spaces with the announcement of its new Touchless pedestal. Compatible with version 1.0 of Touchless Design SDK, It is designed for use with large format displays, videowall and projection-based environments.

Touchless Design is funded, in part, by Intel through the Pandemic Response Technology Initiative.

The touchless pedestal can connect to existing displays or other large presentation environments using mouse emulation to enable gesture-based interaction.

The round LCD screen 3,5 Built-in inches and LED lights provide information to visitors as they interact. For your part, animated cursor icons change on the target screen to provide additional information. An integrated LeapMotion device provides contactless hand tracking.

The touchless pedestal can provide interaction in environments where touch or other interactive technologies are not practical. For example, curved screens with large format projection or video walls that are difficult to convert to touch due to their large size or geometry.

Touchless pedestal is constructed of aluminum and Staron solid surface material, while the wooden piece that holds the small LCD screen is made of walnut.

It is available in white or black, but you can also custom design a unit in almost any color.

This solution has already been used in an exhibition that ideum developed for the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. The large projection installation is a version of the interactive Deep Dive they developed with Intervoke , who created the exhibit's interactive 3D artwork of the human brain. The Deep Dive exhibit is an installation at the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium.
