A new high-resolution screen at the Kauffman Stadium Hall of Fame and two main video scoreboards will captivate fans with the high dynamic range of their images.

When baseball returns to Estadio Kauffman in 2021, the main video display will have HDR capability and increased 138% in the number of pixels to offer higher resolution and quality images to Kansas City Royals fans.

Daktronics will supply a new screen for the Hall of Fame and two barrier screens to be installed early next year, configuring a total surface with high dynamic range LEDs (HDR) of 987 square meters, becoming the third major facility in American baseball.

John Sherman, president and CEO of the Kansas City Royals, acknowledges that “we are very excited about the project of these new giant LED screens at Kauffman Stadium”.

The Hall of Fame's new HDR Led screen will measure 6 meters high and 33 meters in length, surpassing the 200 square meters of surface for digital display. For comparison, would be necessary 206 monitors 60 inches to cover the entire surface of this screen.

The president and CEO of Daktronics, Reece Kurtenbach, highlights that the new screens “will have a great positive impact on the fan experience at Kauffman Stadium. The new CrownVision Led screen is framed in the same dimensions as the previous one, but updated technology brings more 3,5 million pixels. It will remain the eighth largest video screen in all of baseball, and the fourth professional baseball team to have HDR capability in its LED video scoreboards.

The side background screens will incorporate more than 700.000 pixels and the new Hall of Fame screen will provide almost 900.000 pixels. They will all have a resolution of 15 millimeters of pixels using Surface-Mount Device technology (SMD).

The main screen retains its dimensions of 32 meters high by 26 base meters, while the two of the lateral bottoms will measure 2 meters high by 39 meters long each. The new installation will feature improved resolution for optimal image quality and higher brightness for video sharing, statistics, graphics and sponsorships.
