PLAYdifferently Model 1.4: four channel analog mixer

Based on its predecessor Model 1, This new DJ mixer has a smaller, more compact design, with enhanced streaming features.

Four years after introducing its well-known and award-winning DJ Model mixer to the market 1, the company PLAYdifferently now offers the new Model 1.4, a compact four-channel design.

Designed by Andy Rigby-Jones, and co-designed by Richie Hawtin with suggestions received from professionals, engineers from the electronic music and clubbing community, Model 1.4 features the same focus on build quality, precision and details than its predecessor.

“With Model 1 We set out to build a new kind of DJ mixer, more like an instrument, with levels of control and quality that inspire creativity - explains Hawtin -. We always thought that a compact version would be welcome and perfect for streaming”.

At a more affordable price, but without compromising the quality of the design and components, “Model 1.4 It has a smaller format with four channels, perfect for small studios, as a compact mixer for clubbing or touring”, underlines this designer.

Model 1.4, available on the market at the end of this month of January through Audio-Technica Iberia, It has four stereo channels, two stereo send and return, two mix outputs and two high-performance phono preamps. Each channel also has its own high and low pass filters, Precision Sculpt EQ and Circuit overdrive analog.

Like its predecessor, This new model also has two independent cue systems, D-Sub input/output for integration of high-end sound cards and Mixer-Link system, which allows multiple PLAYdifferently mixers to connect to each other, offering a scalable system.

As Hawtin assures, “Model 1.4 remains true to our original concept of 'DJ mixer as an instrument'’ and offers it in a compact and more affordable format”.
