InfoComm postpones its edition 2021 until next October
The organization has announced that the event has rescheduled its celebration dates. 23 al 29 October of this year, in orlando (Florida - EU).
The celebration of InfoComm 2021 has been postponed again due to the pandemic, as announced in a statement by David Labuskes, general director of Avixa (association that owns and organizes this event), and now it will take place 23 al 29 October 2021 in orlando (The exhibition will be 27 al 29 of said month).
Labuskes has addressed in a letter to the “InfoComm and Avixa community”, in which he points out that at this time “I have seen with great pride that our industry has not only united, but has led others through technologies and innovation”, and satisfaction with the association's participation in numerous meetings that have taken place in virtual format.
“Throughout my mandate - he explains -, Avixa is committed to two fundamental priorities: be the center of the community of AV professionals and act as a catalyst for the growth of this market. Although a global pandemic has forced us all to examine the methods and tools we previously took for granted, “It has not diverted us from the obligation to fulfill these founding promises.”.
In this sense, Labuskes recognizes “the vital role InfoComm plays in these priorities.”, by bringing the community together to share thought leadership, explore emerging technologies and, of course, the meeting of our industry in person”.
Under these premises, “Avixa has continued to monitor the vaccine rollout, economic indicators, travel restrictions and the event community to better gauge general trends and future conditions for hosting a major event in the United States in June 2021.”, continue.
The result of it “seen with a holistic perspective of all factors in North America”, has been the transfer of InfoComm 2021 of the 12 al 18 from June to 23 al 29 October of this year, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
As Labuskes recalls, last January “after the opportunity to explore new dates, we gather stakeholder feedback and industry opinion, where we received overwhelming support for a postponement. Despite how excited she is about the contest, and how hopeful and optimistic we remain in the fight against the pandemic, “It is estimated that they will be more advanced in the battle against the pandemic in October than in June”.
Regarding the 'hole' that this may leave in the traditional celebration calendar in June, "we will continue offering programming, education and opportunities that will bring our community together. Integrated Systems Europe (WHEREAS) e InfoComm 2021 will do everything possible to offer safe and meaningful events in Barcelona in June and Orlando in October; They continue to be unique fairs in different geographies, “both with a shared passion for AV and integrated experiences”.
