The new system consists of three flown arrangements (left, center and right), with thirteen LINA speakers each. Above the center of the stage are four 1100-LFC subwoofers, also flown, in configuration end fire 2×2. To cover the lower end of lower frequencies, two VLFCs have been added.

The theater sound designer, Krzysztof Polesiński, decided to add a central array with the subwoofers flown behind, instead of flying them behind the side arrays. “MINA speakers have been removed and replaced with LINA, which is the same size but sounds better, with greater intelligibility and more detailed reproduction”.

Besides, as this professional explains, “It was time to increase the central canal to the appropriate size, so now we have thirteen boxes in each arrangement. I consider the central channel to be very important., since you can make the positioning of the sound source within the space better”.

Added to this is the installation of a surround sound system, along with the new main system, composed of MM-4XP and MM-4XPD speakers in the side boxes; UPM-1P for lower surround; UPJ-1P for mid surround, and UPQ-1P for upper surround (in the first, second and third floors), plus two compact 900-LFC subwoofers. Private VIP seating areas are covered by three UPM-1P loudspeakers.

One of the first events held in the theater after the installation of the new equipment was a performance by the famous Polish pop artist Andrzej Piaseczny, pioneer also in the country in the use of surround sound technology.

The Roma Musical Theater has always hosted the premiere of Polish versions of great musicals, as Les Miserables, Cats, Oh mama! o The Phantom of the Opera, inter alia. It has also been the setting for its own productions such as The Pilots, dedicated to the famous Polish squadron 303 from the Battle of Britain.

Precisely in the representation of this work the new surround sound system has been used, responsible for reproducing the flyovers of fighter planes and the sound effects of the battle. The work Aida, by Elton John and Tim Rice, will resume performances once the theater can be allowed to safely open.
