Hibox Systems County Durham NHS Foundation TrustSmartroom Health's solution Hibox Systems has been chosen by the English County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust for the management of digital signage content of three hospitals.

The English healthcare provider County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust has chosen the system Smartroom Health of Hibox Systems for your Darlington Memorial hospitals, University of North Durham and Bishop Auckland, in order to manage the contents of their screens and the television entertainment services of patients from the same server.

The Smartroom Health solution has been integrated into the enterprise systems of these three hospitals and promotes, through the network of digital displayss installed, the foundation's mission to provide the safest care, compassionate and integrated with the population it serves.

Nigel Hauxwell, Director of IT, County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, that's how he explains it.: “with Smartroom Health, our hospitals can create an exceptional patient experience, providing information and visual content on more than forty digital signage screens”.

The Smartroom Health installation has been performed “no problems -stresses Hauxwell- and now we can control all display systems from a single server, getting the most value from our IT budget”.

Screens in public areas are now used to provide real-time communication to patients, visitors and staff, including general information, timeouts, news, general messages and cafeteria menus.

All this content is displayed on large format digital signage screens, while in the smaller ones, located at the doors of meeting rooms, it offers information of the spaces occupied at that time and upcoming reservations.

In addition to the screens oriented to the information to the patients, the foundation also uses Smartroom Health's built-in tools for room allocation.

“We discovered the need for more efficient and reliable signage at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust hospitals a while ago, remember Staffan Granholm, ceo of Hibox Systems-. We are delighted to have been able to come to an agreement and install our system in just a few months, and that Smartroom Health live up to your expectations, offering an engaging experience to patients and staff”.

Although this is the first installation of this system, Granholm trusts that “many more will follow, as has happened in the Nordic countries, where Smartroom Health is becoming the de facto standard for large hospitals”.

The management of the project in the United Kingdom has been the responsibility of Lorna Garrett, director general of Zest Technologies (formerly of Garland Partners), experts in IPTV and digital solutions.

“Working with county Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust IT and communications teams to fully understand their signage needs and the results they wanted, I was able to recommend the Hibox digital signage solution, as we offer systems that are reliable, cost-effective and easy to manage”, says Garret.
