He hotel Gallery Plaza San Jerónimo Mexico City has a distributed audio system based on the solutions of Bose Professional. This includes more than 120 EdgeMax and FreeSpace speakers, plus amplifiers, DSP signal processors and wall controllers.
With more than a hundred speakers, Bose Pro devices and software, the integrator Technology in Special Systems (TSE) has implemented an efficient audio system that completely covers all areas of the new Galería Plaza San Jerónimo hotel in Mexico City.
Business travelers and event planners alike evaluate the availability and quality of technology tools when selecting a hotel to stay in or host a small meeting., wedding or conference.
Plaza San Jerónimo Gallery, a new hotel located in the San Jerónimo Lídice neighborhood, south of Mexico City, has invested in different systems that allow them to provide the best experience for their guests. Among these systems, highlights a complete audio solution, Integrated with Bose Professional technology, covering all areas of public use.
Plaza San Jerónimo Gallery is part of Brisas Group, one of the most recognized hotel groups in Mexico. Galería Plaza is the brand that identifies its luxury business hotels and are characterized by their contemporary style, efficient service, connectivity and technology.
It opened its doors in the fall of 2020, offers 141 rooms and 10 comfortable and well-equipped suites, a spectacular roof garden with swimming pool, two large terraces surrounded by gardens, executive club, business center, restaurant, bar, gym, yoga room and a versatile event room with ample capacity.
Grupo Brisas commissioned the audio system project to the Mexican company Tecnología en Sistemas Especiales (TSE), an experienced IT and AV integration company, which had already provided sound for another hotel in the group.
The main objective was to deliver a distributed audio system to set all the public areas of the hotel., with special interest in the San Jerónimo room, the main venue for celebrations and conferences.
TSE designed a system made up of exclusively Bose Professional equipment that included more than 120 Speakers of different models of families EdgeMax y FreeSpace, plus amplifiers, DSP signal processors and wall controllers.
The system was divided into ten independent audio zones, operating over a Dante network. TSE was also responsible for the design and integration of other IT systems, like the network for voice and data, fire prevention system and video surveillance.
San Jerónimo Hall
The biggest challenge was sounding the San Jerónimo room, a large place of 940 square meters, that can be used as a single space, with maximum capacity of 900 people in auditorium mode, or divide up to six sections to create different configurations according to the needs of the events.
In the design process, TSE I use the software Modeler, a 3D modeling program for acoustic design and analysis, which was very useful to define the type of speakers and their distribution in the room.
The data obtained indicated that the best option to achieve the desired performance, consisted of the integration of a system of 20 speakers EdgeMax EM180 ceiling mount. These teams guarantee coverage, intelligibility and power , as in celebrations, in which music carries greater weight. Besides, for its simple line design, they merge with the decoration of the living room ceiling, which helps maintain an image of sober elegance.
With the help of software ControlSpace Designer, used to configure the audio signal processing and network operations of sound processors and amplifiers, An efficient solution was implemented to carry out up to six events simultaneously without interference between the sections of the room.
To facilitate the use of any audio source, six wall plates were installed ControlSpace WP22BU-D Dante, in which users can connect microphones, laptops, smartphones or audio players. When operating over a Dante network, These sources can be connected in one of the six sections of the room and sent to any other section or to the entire room, when used as a complete space.
To manage the audio operation there are two options, use all six zone controllers ControlSpace CC-16, located on the walls of the room, or do it from the comfort of a tablet touch screen with ControlSpace Remote software. This option is preferred by hotel staff, because in a simple way they have immediate access to view, monitor and control the audio of the San Jerónimo room according to the configuration used.
The system is complemented with an amplifier PowerMatch PM8500N and a digital sound processor ControlSpace EX-1280C, both from Bose, installed on the site dedicated to the operation of the salon.
Indoor and outdoor sound experience
Like the San Jerónimo room, the rest of the audio system is connected to a Dante network, which facilitates its operation and control.
In interior spaces, like the restaurant, lobby bar, gym and yoga studio, different speakers from the FreeSpace family have been installed.
The outdoor spaces are another of the attractions of the Galería Plaza San Jerónimo, They can be enjoyed all year round thanks to the good climate in the south of the city.. The hotel has two large terraces, with capacity for one hundred people each. FreeSpace 360P Series II ambient speakers have been placed in their planters, with 360º horizontal coverage.
With a spectacular view of the Mexican capital, The versatile roof garden is ideal for hosting a late-afternoon cocktail or enjoying a Sunday brunch by the pool.. Music is essential to generate a good experience with a touch of sophistication, That is why it has provided this area with 14 speakers FreeSpace 360P Series II and a subwoofer MB210-WR to highlight bass reproduction.
The FreeSpace 360P Series II are dust resistant, rain and extreme temperatures, so external conditions are not an obstacle to its performance.
In all these areas, Hotel staff have the option of using installed ControlSpace CC-16 zone controllers or a mobile device with the ControlSpace Remote app.
Thanks to the design of the TSE team and the vision of Grupo Brisas, The new Galería Plaza San Jerónimo hotel has a high-quality sound system that contributes to creating a comfortable experience for its guests and visitors.. Music adds to other elements such as lighting, the furniture or the combination of architectural materials to welcome people who enter through the hotel lobby or those who enjoy the different spaces inside and outside.
