KV2 audio arrives in Poland's nightclubs

The P23 and CEL clubs in the Polish city of Katowice have renewed their sound system, betting on audio solutions from KV2. Wise Clubs has been the company in charge of carrying out the AV integration of the two venues.

Wise Clubs is a company focused on audiovisual consulting and integration based in Krakow (Poland). Recently, was commissioned to design and integrate the systems of two of the most popular nightclubs in Katowice: the emblematic club P23, located in an old porcelain factory, and his little brother, the club THE, recently opened in the city center.

Both venues have been equipped with sound systems KV2 ( according to the company, the first KV2 systems to be installed in clubs in Poland) designed and installed by Wise Clubs and supplied by the Polish KV2 distributor, Arcade Audio.

P23 has a post-industrial feel with natural brick walls, steel beams and high ceilings. It is one of the main live music venues in the city that hosts a wide variety of events, from acoustic concerts to rock music and, perhaps the genre for which it is best known, he techno. The biggest names in techno and electronic music have performed at P23 in recent years.

This venue has recently upgraded its sound system with a KV2 solution based on the full range wide dispersion system SL412, plus a couple of subwoofers SL2.15 and two low frequency VHD2.21 per side. Four ESD 12 and two ESD 15 act as frontfill and balcony delays. on stage, of the EX12 accompanied by two subwoofers EX1.8 provide a monitoring system, which can also be used as a stand-alone sound system for separate events.

For your part, The CEL club is a place dedicated strictly to clubbing: techno, house, electro, drum & bass.

for this space, Wise opted for the classic ES system from KV2, composed of two ES1.0 mid/high speakers, complemented by four individual subwoofers 18 inches ES1.8, with power and control supplied by two EPAK2500/R units.

Michal Piwowar, co-owner and director of both rooms, explains that for the P23 they were looking for a system that would provide high-quality sound and uniform coverage throughout the venue, which he admits is not an easy task due to its unusual shape. They also wanted something that fit the club's austere aesthetic and that, however, reduce acoustic treatment work to a minimum.

“We test many systems and hold concerts and events with different rental configurations, but it was the KV2 system that sounded exceptional. Offers the full spectrum of sound: attack in the middle, massages the low end and penetrates the treble”.

Regarding the CEL club, Piwowar explains that the requirements were slightly different, since it is a pure place techno/electro underground. “Our clients demand a lot, So we needed an efficient, maintenance-free system to cover the long, narrow space that is our main dance floor.. That's why we opted for KV again.”.
