The cylindrical Led screen 'Tecnohito' becomes the digital icon of Benidorm
La UTE Orthem – Emurtel (Etra Group) y Led Dream Group have created the new digital architectural engineering work of Benidorm and one of the most spectacular in Spain: 'Tecnohito', with more than 300 m2 of Led screen.
Famous for being one of the most visited tourist cities in the Mediterranean, he Benidorm Town Hall has taken advantage of the remodeling works on Avenida del Mediterráneo, one of its main tourist and commercial routes, to turn it into a sustainable and multifunctional urban space.
The project, The construction management and comprehensive design has been led and executed by the architect Joaquín Alvado Bañon, ICCP Miguel Ángel Crespo Zaragoza y Consultant Guide – Civil & Architectural Engineering.
This circular outdoor screen more than 300 m2 Led display surface and 22 meters high, It is one of the largest in Europe. For its creation, Benidorm City Council has counted on the UTE Orthem – Emurtel (Etra Group), who has collaborated with his partner Led Dream Group, responsible for design, supply and implementation of Led technology for the execution and start-up of Tecnohito and the so-called Technostop, a large digital marquee to improve the citizen experience.
Tecnohito will serve to show advertising actions - the marketing of which, together with the management of the informative content of the Tecnoparada, is the responsibility of Exterior Plus-, institutional initiatives and live shows, among other content and events in the city.
As far as technology is concerned, Tecnohito has a pixel pitch de 16 mm y 32 mm in outdoor LED curtain format. Besides, It has a fully adjustable brightness of up to 6.500 nits, for perfect viewing of content day and night.
This innovative cylindrical digital system has required precise engineering work to create the support structure, composed of a modular LED curtain system that considerably reduces weight and does not present wind obstruction thanks to its high transparency level (67%), allowing greater visibility of the structure.
Custom-made to meet all the requirements set by the Benidorm City Council, This modular outdoor LED screen has very specific specifications, like it doesn't present gap between firms, so the Led panels fit perfectly, making a perfect polygonal curve that respects the horizontal pixel pitch without leaving free spaces., allowing screen content to be viewed continuously.
Another feature is its light weight., of 13Kg/m2, which represents a load release for the structural element, which, together with height and size, were fundamental aspects given the complexity of its design..
Tecnohito shows content from the 8:00h at 00:00, while in the Tecnoparada it begins at 6:00h until 1:00, with specific nighttime content to avoid excess luminosity for neighbors. These spaces generate close to one and a half million impacts per week.
Besides, Tecnohito will act as a viewpoint, since you can visit and enjoy a panoramic view of the city from the city's Plaza de la Hispanidad, thus becoming a new tourist spot in Benidorm.
Technostop
As part of the comprehensive remodeling of Avenida del Mediterráneo, other digital elements have been included in which LED technology is the protagonist., like the Tecnostop, a modern two-story high digital marquee that displays real-time information content from the city's bus service (lines, schedules, incidences, etc.), as well as information of interest and even advertising.
This digital urban marquee is composed of a spectacular rectangle-shaped Led curtain screen, with a size of 15.3×2 meters and pixel pitch de 16 mm/32mm High brightness that catches the attention of passersby and improves their experience when waiting for the bus.
