Magewell adds wireless inputs to USB Fusion
The equipment for mixing and capturing video Magewell, USB Fusion, now supports wireless transmission protocols, including AirPlay, Google Cast y Miracast.
Magewell has expanded the input source possibilities of its flexible video capture and mixing hardware system USB Fusion with new support for wireless content sharing technologies.
Hardware and accompanying app allow cameras to be combined, wired or wireless screen sharing and media sources in live presentations, visually appealing for broadcast, event production, online conferences, webinars, video conferencing and other applications.
The new capabilities are being revealed in the demonstrations that Magewell is doing at its booth (C5031) in NAB Show 2023, that is being held in Las Vegas, y también podrán verse en la feria InfoComm 2023, which will take place 14 al 16 June in Orlando (Florida).
USB Fusion allows producers and presenters to switch between multiple sources, live and file-based, or combine inputs in picture-in-picture or side-by-side layouts.
Results can be captured in Windows software, Mac or Linux via USB interface 3.0 hardware or sent via HDMI to a projector, screen or post production equipment.
On-device buttons and a browser-based web interface provide easy operation and setup, while the free USB Fusion companion app for iOS and Android tablets offers expanded layout controls and advanced presentation tools, ranging from playlists and annotation recording.
USB Fusion now supports wireless transmission protocols, including AirPlay, Google Cast y Miracast, allowing content to be shared from Apple devices, Android, Windows y Chromebook.
Up to four simultaneous wireless sources can be combined into a screencast scene layout, which can then be switched with USB Fusion's dual 1080p60 HDMI inputs, USB webcam input and media file sources.
“Input flexibility is one of the key benefits of USB Fusion, “And the addition of wireless sharing support expands this advantage.”, explains Nick Ma, CEO and CTO of Magewell. “The wireless input capabilities are ideal for use cases ranging from incorporating mobile device displays into live event productions to educational presentations that combine an instructor with multiple student collaborators.”.
Wireless sharing features will be available in an upcoming free firmware update, scheduled for release at the end of this month.
This update marks the third significant expansion of the USB Fusion feature and joins other recent improvements including user-defined mapping of scene layouts to device buttons; improved graphical tools; the ability to control PowerPoint presentations on a connected computer; scheduled recording; ISO recording and integration with Google Drive.
