L-Acoustics Brings LA7.16 Controller to Live Events
The LA7.16 multi-channel amplified controller L-Acoustics It is designed with a high density format, Powering a large number of linear array loudspeakers. This saves space, weight and time in deployment.
Last year, L-Acoustics introduced the amplified controller LA7.16i, a team that improves flexibility and efficiency, especially in multichannel fixed installation projects. Hoy, has expanded its field of action with a version designed for live productions.
The amplified controller LA7.16 offers efficiency and sustainability on tours. The high density format (16×16 architecture in 2U) powers a large number of line array loudspeakers, which means less racks on tour, which in turn translates into energy and time savings, along with the ability to address multichannel. High-density format saves space, weight and time in deployment.
LA7.16 meets the amplification needs of the L Series, whose L2 and L2D elements contain 20 drivers and require 16 high power amplification channels and 16 latest generation DSP channels.
The new equipment has a touch screen and an encoder wheel to configure initial parameters and a single SC32 connector on the back to connect speakers. By using new connection accessories, LA7.16 powers any L-Acoustics line source array up to K2.
The new touring frame LA-RAK III houses three LA7.16 amplified drivers with 48 amplification channels and 48 individual DSP channels totaling more than 60.000 maximum power watts in a 9U rack, with two LS10 switches to support continuous Milan AVB redundancy.
Current amplifier technology is sized to power all channels simultaneously for long periods of time. However, in real world applications, This type of demand is rare. LA7.16 amplified driver technology delivers power more efficiently and uses power more effectively.
“LA7.16 is the perfect partner for the recently launched L Series”, comment Scott Sugden, Director of Electronics Product Management at L-Acoustics. “Power capacity and energy efficiency are advances in design and will help rental providers deploy faster and achieve real economies in transportation and deployment”.
LA7.16 utility L-Smart, a suite of power management technologies that allows designers to mix and match any L-Acoustics loudspeaker in a single amplifier.
L-Smart uses proprietary predictive modeling algorithms to manage the power supply unit (PSU) and individual amplification channels. Hardware sensors inside the amplifier provide real-time information, which is analyzed by the DSP to dynamically adapt to the needs of the speaker system. The power supply provides extremely high peak power in the short term or lower power during longer standby times.
This power is intelligently delivered to the advanced Class D output stages., ensuring optimal system performance at all times.
LA7.16 can drive any L-Acoustics speaker up to K2, enabling high-resolution amplification and processing of large format loudspeakers with less system budget.
