FC Barcelona inaugurates its new exhibition space that includes a large immersive room

He FC Barcelona has inaugurated its new museum, located next to the Palau Blaugrana, in the building where the Palau de Gel ice rink was located. A space that will be open to the public until the new museum of the future is inaugurated Spotify Camp Nou, what is planned for the season 2024/25.
The Barça museum is a facility of great historical value, which in recent years has received thousands of visitors each season, concretely 1,8 million annually before the pandemic, and has become the most visited in Catalonia. Since the end of the pandemic restrictions, it has recovered a good part of its activity.
Coinciding with the closure of the current museum, due to the impact of the stadium works, The Club has enabled the new space, which has some 2.400 square meters and is divided into different areas to create a better experience for the visitor, with the purpose of temporarily replacing the current Stadium Tour & Museum.
The creation of this new museum responds mainly to three objectives. First, convert it into a pilot test for the application of the most advanced technologies and recreational activities that will be implemented in the future new Spotify Camp Nou museum, where virtual reality, Immersive activities and holograms will be put at the service of the Club's history in an entertainment-oriented environment.
Besides, We also want to create a space that becomes a technological reference, as well as modernity and innovation. Y, finally, It seeks to protect as much as possible an important source of income for the Club.
The project has been developed together with Mediapro Exhibitions, the division of Mediapro Group specialized in the creation and development of exhibition and museum projects, and which has already carried out the renovation of the current museum in 2010.
The president of FC Barcelona attended the inauguration of the new space, John Laporta; together with Jordi Penas, director of the FC Barcelona Museum; and Jaume Roures, founding partner of the Mediapro Group. They have participated in an event that was also attended by the Minister of Culture of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Natalia Garriga, as well as other representatives of cultural entities in the city of Barcelona.
The event began with a tour to see the Barça Immersive Tour and continue in the immersive room, considered the largest in Europe in a sports museum. This new space is the first piece of the 'Espai Barça'.
