The lighting design was carried out by John Gallagher, who liaised with exhibition designers, vendors and other stakeholders to support storytelling and ensure a cohesive, visually engaging atmosphere for the attraction. He was also responsible for planning and supervising the lighting approach and scheduling..
According to Gallagher, lighting was necessary that would highlight the richness of details of the sets, costumes and props, along with a theatrical one that often emulated the look of a film. It was also important for the designers, owners and partners of Studio Tour that all exhibitions work well on camera.
The project used about 1.100 luces de Elation Professional: 341 Colour 5 Profile, 658 SixPar 200, 48 Paladin Panel, 29 Paladin Brick, 14 Fuze Par Z120 IP y 6 Fuze By Z175. The sale of the units to PSI was carried out through Elation's UK distribution partner, Banned, who offered product support and organized demo teams.
Gallagher states that the reliability, uniformity and subtle color rendering were important in all luminaires. “The look of the show required extensive use of variations in white and color temperatures, as well as occasional more saturated tones. Elation color engines allowed us to achieve this very successfully”.
The two main luminaires are used in the project, the Color profile 5 and the SixPar 200. Color profiles 5 perform various functions, how to focus exhibition objects, like suits and mannequins, and project gobos and light beams.
Los Colour 5 Profiles perform various functions, including focusing on exhibits such as suits/mannequins and signage, while providing gobo and beam projection.
The designer states that the SixPar 200 offer a cost-effective option for area lighting, backlighting and lighting through decorated windows in small spaces, and also as room lights.
