Providence acquires majority stake in d&b Group

As part of the transaction, the management team of d&b will continue to work together with Providence Equity Partners to consolidate its global position in the professional audio and AVLM solutions market.

Ardian has sold its majority stake in Cubes Holding (d&b Group) a Providence Equity Partners, private equity firm specializing in growth-oriented investments in media, communications, education and technology. The transaction is expected to close on 31 October 2023.

Since its acquisition in 2016, Ardian has supported the company and its team, headed by CEO Amnon Harman, on a dynamic path of strong organic growth and geographic expansion. As part of the transaction, the management team of d&b will reinvest alongside Providence and continue to conduct day-to-day operations following the completion of the agreement.

Founded in 1981 and based in Backnang (Germany) d&b is one of the leading providers of professional audio technology and solutions AVLM (Audio, Video, Light y Media) to create multi-sensory experiences.

d&b audiotechnik, the manufacturing part of the company, is recognized as a company focused on sound reinforcement systems in installation and rental applications.. The solutions of d&b covers planning, installation, system maintenance and managed services.

With the support of Ardian, d&b has achieved constant growth, achieving a compound annual rate (CAGR) two digits from 2016, despite the temporary market disruption in the events sector caused by the COVID pandemic 19. Since the acquisition of Ardian, The number of employees has tripled from around 350 to more than 1000.
